The USS Abraham Lincoln will be deployed for Christmas and has given approval for the ship to receive pillowcases while on deployment. That will be 5,000 or more strong.
The main postings for this project will be in the Lincoln group under the thread called "The Lincoln Family Love Pillowcase Project".
I will update here as well so you don't have to join the Lincoln group.
Let us know what you can do to help us get the ship done!

this is my latest note from a sailor! I did write back to him and ask him if he knew of anyone who hadn't received one in his division. Hopefully the rest got them too! But it was a cute note!

Hello
I received a really cool pillow case and I wanted to email you and tell you thank you oh so very much! I am not sure how or why I received it but it did make my day. I have it on my bed right now, and there were a bunch of my fellow shipmates were jealous that I received one and they didn’t J so that made me laugh pretty good. I am not sure if you knew that I liked baseball ( I don’t know how you would but…..) but I did think that it was pretty cool for my pillow case was a baseball one. I will tell you the story of how I received it. I just got off shift here on the boat, and I was heading to my rack (bed) to grab my soap and shower stuff and I see this pillow case neatly folded on my rack. At first I was like what is this for it was dark in my area. So I turned on the light and to my amazement, it saw your note and the pillow case, and it made me smile. I was having a long rough day and when I saw that it almost brought a tear to my eye (but shh don’t tell anyone) just to know that even with a lot of people back home not supporting us, to see that a total stranger cares about us and let alone me, well it made my day to say the least. So thanks again and have a great day.

Great note, Jackie. I love to get the thank you notes. It was nice of him to describe it because I am sure that you can identify which of your it was.
His comment about others being jealous that they did not receive one is disturbing. Who ever put it on his rack doesn't seem to have put it on the other racks. Could someone have lifted some from the racks?
Another note from a Lincoln sailor:
Hello Birdie!
Thank you for the pillow case that you sent out for the Sailors. I got the one with the flag design on it. I appreciate you putting the time and effort to support us out here. God bless.
Very respectfully,

Just got this note:
Birdie,
My name is Jon. I am currently deployed with an F-18 squadron onboard the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN. Our squadron just got a box full of pillow cases. I just wanted to let you know they are awesome. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. I assume from the picture in the card that you or someone you know is a firefighter. Therefore, I also thank you for your service keeping your community safe, and putting yourself in harms way.
Very Respectfully, Jon
