My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

B made it, actually a few hours ago but I had no sleep lastnight so I napped most of the afternoon once I knew she was there. She said they watched a movie, then TV, and then football. And then has liberty tomorrow other than that she doesn't know anything yet.

D has made it to Pensacola. The airport experience was very good except that it was crowded. They didn't charge for his bags and they gave all four of us gate passes to go with him to the gate. On a funny note, my hubby has a insulin pump and they checked him for explosives. You should have seen his face when the security guard put on rubber gloves and came toward him with a wand. We were.still laughing about that at dinner! There were about 15 sailors on his flight and several guys from his division showed up from connecting flights. At the gate. It was like a family reunion! Lol D's closest friend from BC got to Pensacola. Four hours before him and we sat their and waited for D to get there. They have the same rate and they are hoping that if they show up at the same time they will get to be roommates. Pretty cute I'm not sure if it will work for them but we will see. I didn't cry at the airport but almost lost it when we stood up to say goodbye. I made eye contact with a woman traveling alone and she had a sad smile on her face and I felt that she knew how I was feeling. Strange that just one look can communicate so much.

A "travel safe" prayer to all of our sailors on their way to A school.  Karl got in last night in Charleston. Called today and said felt a little sick, but might just be tired.  I don't think he has anything pressing to do today but rest.  Tomorrow is muster (I think that is right) and I am sure he will find out more then.  I need to know what things he wants to have shipped to him.  He did not take much besides his Navy stuff and his new laptop.  I have a feeling he could have taken more, so I will wait to hear.

A's shuttle from the airport has made it to Groton!  He was at a Subway eating; no cell call service but can get a text out so he is a bit bummed about that.  Hoping cell service improves - could be due to the storm maybe too.  He said the "base looks nice but it's dark tho."  He's filled out paperwork and waiting for a room.  Ash said he is hanging out in someone's room he met at Subway.  Very glad he is there safe and sound :-)

Got a call from S at about 5:30. Has arrived in Pensacola. Said flight was fine. He is waiting til a flight comes in with a buddy from bc on it. Will call again after he gets settled in on base. Just glad to know that he made it ok. Waiting to hear from the rest of you that your loved ones have also made it safely to their A school.

Cj had a duty day today. He said he will be on duty once every four days. His ship right now is a processing one. Not sure if he will change rooms but he said he will have an address by the end of the week.

He is on rack one which is the top one. All rack ones had duty today in the ship not sure how many rooms there are. He said he can set up internet for his room so he was doing that tomorrow. He also said there was a lounge and it has a tv and sofas and stuff. Lots of people there as I heard some girls in the background talking and laughing. Anyway he was getting settled and was tired but good spirits.
