Since we are now able to send packages, wouldn't it be great if we shared our creative ideas of what we intend to send to our sailors?

My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Uh-Oh Rose…you are SO right. I am getting confused with all of these classes now. Although I DO know it is TCNO (I always want to spell it out with all of the letters) and am trying to remember what it is an acronym for… And there are how many more??? I am in so much trouble!! LOL It can be our little secret.
We resent IB's birthday/Easter box. The USPS could not find the sub base!! I mean REALLY!! Called IB to double check on the address…it was correct, so we have resent it!! If it comes back again, I am going to be really ticked!!
As I "watch" your kids going off, it is coming home to me that IB is going to be gone for long periods of time. And since he will be under water, I think there is little communication. This is gonna be tough. I am so glad that Elizabeth and Rose will be in the same boat (tee hee) as me!! We can prop each other up.
However, I am so thrilled that you all will get to see your kids for some period of time!! And how awesome that you will be seeing each other too!! That is a special treat! I was talking to IB today, asking about Easter plans, and he said he thinks it will be just another day… :-( Hopefully the chocolate bunny will arrive in time. HA!!
Have a wonderful Easter everyone, I will try to get back on, but we are having a crew over...
One more thing, can I ask for prayers for IB's brother, Matt (23)? He has arthritis (really bad!!) and he is having a horrid flare up and can barely get out of bed without major pain meds. Thanks so much!!
I am so jealoius of those going to Pensacola. I really wanted to be there this week. It is my spring break, but couldn't afford it. I will see H in 11 days.
It brings tears to my eyes reading about your boys being sent to Japan and Libya. I know it wil be hard when H gets to Hawaii. Eventhough it is "Hawaii", she is there for 3 years and I will only get to see her twice a year most likely. I am going to take advantage of my 3 weeks with her and spend as much time with her as I can.
Hope to be on the road to Pensacola by 1:30 tomorrow !! So excited and tons of stuff to do. Driving til tired tomorrow, which I hope doesnt happen to soon !! I am up at 4am for school bus, so I hit the sack pretty early. Hubby better sleep good tonite. I want to wish all of you wonderful ladies and very Blessed Easter. Even though all of us will not get to spend the holiday with our Sailors, we still have so many blessings to be thankful for.
Betsy, I have finally booked the room, Quality Inn ,Warrington RD. I will send you my number too !! In case you forget, I am 301 area code !! So happy for A's news !!
Thank you, Rose.
Nancy, thank you and good luck to I in his new classes.
Nancy....your sailor will be so mad at you if he knows that you are sending him back to start ATT for a second time. LOL They (my sailor and Nancy sailor) are waiting to start TECNO.
Betsy....glad to hear everything is working for your son. God have the control of everything. I know your getting ready to start your trip. Have a nice and safe trip!
Ladies- I have been reading, but not taking the time to sit down and type, so am trying to rectify that situation tonight.
The news for my sailor is smooth sailing (so far!). He is waiting to class up for the ATT class. He earned 72 hours leave, I can't tell you how much I wish I were closer so that I could see him and his free time!! So far he was pretty familiar with what he has been studying, but he says the ATT stuff will all be new. I imagine he is gonna have to work a little harder.
Betsy- WHAT a huge relief!! So glad that A has lots of choices, always makes it easier to change when you have some control over where you are going. Happy for you that he is not choosing SEALS LOL, but wow!! 50 different ratings huh?? Have an excellent time down in Florida. I know you will enjoy seeing your sailor!!!
Penny-you will be an absolute asset to this mom. Can you imagine having had someone around to actually talk to when you were going through all the new, scary stuff? Our group is awesome, but one on one is pretty nice. Get her on our group too and we can all help her.
Cindy-wow! lots of changes. I think we have all been spoiled by how easy it has been to stay in contact with the kids while they have been in school. As they deploy, things are gonna change. Kinda good that the RR is leaving the Japan area, and if he gets somewhere to stay in Washington it is really beautiful up there, excellent place to visit with lots to do!
Elizabeth-I will get right onto the Molly site! It's awesome that you have gotten so involved in her project. I need to look into it, but I need another outlet like I need a hole in my head. I think my hubby would not be happy with another commitment.
you all keep safe and happy. I will try to get on here more often!!
Donna, that would be great if we could meet up this weekend. I'll pm you my phone number and you can pm me your's. Mine is a 505 area code, so if you see that on your phone, you can answer it. lol Maybe we could plan to have lunch with our sailors together? I will definitely keep you up to date on the lunch plans in June and I would love to meet your sister. Do you know Cindy and Lori on the Maryland Moms group? They are coming to lunch too.
Penny, that is so awesome that you will be helping another recruit. You are such a sweetheart to be there for your clients.
Well, my A got really good news today and what a difference a few days can make in his life. He was given a quite extensive list of new opportunities. Geez, my baby boy even qualifies to go into the SEAL program if he wanted too, (but he doesn't want too, thank goodness). He has until Monday the 25th to decide on a new job, so my plans to go to Pensacola are right on track. Woohoo! I'm so close to seeing him now that I can almost smell that Gulf of Mexico. :) I can even help him with his decision about the new training. He was given about 50 different rates that he could do, which is wayyyyy more than the 3 that his recruiter offered him. He's so happy with all of the new potential opportunities. So even though things didn't go as planned for him, things are actually even better now. :) I'm so glad to be able to report good news tonight.
