Since we are now able to send packages, wouldn't it be great if we shared our creative ideas of what we intend to send to our sailors?

My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Hi all - no big news from me and my sailor; he started ATT Monday; its supposed to take about 20 days I believe. He went to upstate NY for the weekend with a buddy who is from there so very nice to get away! I sent me pictures of the Hudson River - he was on a foot bridge above it - yikes! Let than 20 days until I see my sailor!
Jacque - we should schedule a chat! I hope J is o.k. - I would be worried too if I saw my Sailor looking so tired. ((Hugs))
Terry - glad you are spending Easter with your Sailor - I am too!
Nanny 2 - hoping you are getting things figured out with your Sailor!
I sure miss talking to everyone. Is there a particular time when you come on to chat? The other N4M group related to Js ship is not very supportive, and I only go there to see updates if they know when the ship is coming in or it's whereabouts. J is doing ok, not looking well though, he has big black circles under his eyes and looks exhausted. He says he's sleeping fine, and eating and exercising but his appearance worries me. I wish he wasn't 30 hours away so I could go check on him. Apparently he won't be able to take leave until this summer. I never realized I could miss someone so much :( I hope you are all doing ok and please keep me updated how you and your sailors are doing, and when you come on to chat. Miss you all!
I can't read much today, but nanny2, I found this information and thought I'd pass it on to you.

Nanny, did your son get it writing about getting his job back? I would talk to human resources or you Human rights org for your state. They should be able to let you know. maybe the attny general?

Hi everyone, Penny & Nancy bet you guys couldn't do that again if you tried. LOL Nancy when I was a chaperone on my kids school we taped the door shut at night. We always had a couple of kids that just didn't care & would think they could get away with it. Not much sleep on those trips but they were fun.
I'm hoping someone could help me find info. D is in the reserves, he was told he would have his job when he finished boot camp & A school. Now he is back & he was told they don't have to give temp. employees (he has worked there 4 yrs) their jobs back. The kicker is his boss is the one who talked him into going into the Reserves so he could finish college. I'm not sure where to look to get info. Thanks so much.
Penny & Nancy - thanks for the info. The really makes sense. My S has always been very hands on with everything since he was a kid. Even showed up my husband with things LOL. This must be a very hard unit from what S has told me. There were 10 that started out and including him, there are 2 left? Is this normal?

OK Penny!! That is just too funny!! So it now makes sense to me that he is getting the extra time…I was wondering if it was tied to leave. Otherwise I was thinking that he would have to hang around waiting to "class up" all over again. But LEAVE…THAT makes sense!!
I wanna go to Europe..although if you have to chaperone groups of teenagers… ugh!! Do you tape the doors at night so you can at least sleep. My step-daughter takes middle schoolers to Washington DC and that is what she does…if they want something they have to slip a note under the door!!
Lori-happy that you are getting to go to Groton!! Sounds fun!! Oh Yeah…IB has the "day" class, so he is earlier in the day, but when I called him (cuz I can never remember what the A stands for) he sounded pooped…had watch from 2-4 AM… kicked his butt… LOL
Off to bed!! :-)
Too funny Nancy and Penny - ISH has her answer though! Nancy - A told me if they fast pace through ATT they can earn 3 days leave. Maybe that is IB's goal! Good for him. A and N just started last night so I'm anxious to hear how they like the 6-midnight class!
Sounds like everyone is doing well - good for your Sailor Sharon - Congratulations! Drew and I are counting down until 4/20 - it will be here before we know it. Can't wait to see our Sailor and the Groton area!
