My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Priscilla, aww   that's great.  You better start  weight lifting soon.LOL  They grow so fast.  Well winter is back here, calling for a chance of snow flurries. KY weather is so fickle.

Phoebe,  Thank  you.  Praying  for S, I hope it works out.  That would be great if he stayed in SD.    Hope everyone is warm, healthy & happy.

Hi Nanny2, Prayers being sent. Hello Priscilla and little angel.  Congrats on Sailors getting orders.

We're waiting to see if my S gets to go six years.  I guess he had to apply!  If he does he will stay where he is for about 18 months.

Sending hugs to all.

We're doing great. Can't believe Madeleine is 5wks already. She's sooo long and getting heavy (10lbs). I gotta bulk up. :P
What's with all this snow and low temps. Hopefully the weather clears up so everyone can enjoy spring.

Hi Priscilla,  How are mom & the 'lil' angel?  Good to hear from you. Hope all is well, keep us updated when you get a chance.  I can't believe up north blizzards & here in ky we have had 70's, crazy weather. Tonight dipping into the 30's again & I guess for the next week. I hope everyone is doing great. Could I ask for prayers to be sent my way, I could use them.  Thanks!

Just popping in to catch up on everyone's posts!  Lots of excitement!  I hope everyone is doing well.  BIG snow storm in Michigan today so I'm going into work late.  Nothing new to report on my Sailor.  Ditto Nanny's remarks.  Looking forward to spring and all that it brings - better weather, trip to Groton, Loon's Baseball, spending time with Drew before he ships in May, Mother's Day - lots of fun things!

Betsy,
Thinking good thoughts about you and your house!! I have been insanely busy with report cards, parent conferences, and going to Chicago tomorrow for SMART board training… whew!!!!
Feel like I have really been out of the loop here! :-( And I miss talking to everyone here. I am on vacation in a week, when I return from Chicago, so I will have more time to check in.
Cindy- WOW is all I can say. There is a ton of all kinds of information out there, and it makes it hard to know what to think. You helped clear up a lot of thoughts!!
Have a great week everyone!!

Hi All this week has been a bit tough to deal with. Many years ago....over (1979) I was a foreign echange student and lived in Sendai, Japan. My host family still lives there. I was really worried after last weeks events. I finally heard from my host sister a couple days ago that the family is safe and their house is intact.  That was a huge relief. They of couse have a bunch of other issues to deal with. I feel so bad for everyone over there.

@Cindy and @ Nanny, Thanks for the info. It's amazing how much mis-information is out there about everything. Glad to hear that you are enjoying some time with your sailor.

My sailor is doing well this week. He wanted to thank everyone who has sent him cards. I think they all really enjoy getting mail from everyone.

He will be in A school until July. It's going to be awhile until we see him. In the mean time his brother E is getting ready to head for bootcamp in May. He is so excited. He just asked his dad to enlist him . That will be cool. He did that for K as well. It was really moving for all of us.

@Betsy I'm hoping everything works out for you.

I hope you all have a good week!
