EDS - That is great news!  Prayers for all.  That must have been troubling with all that is going on.  Keep your chin up.

I have much to catch up on.  Thanks everyone for your thoughts.  My son and family are good.  Whew!  Not only did I have worries for us here in Cali but I had Hawaii and Guam as well.  I am so taken back by this tragedy in Japan.  I am having difficulty watching the news now even though I am curious to finding out how things are going.  My thoughts and prayers are with them everyday.  Wishing everyone and their sailors all the best.

Elizabeth - That is so great about seeing your Sailor and attending graduation. I would do the crying thing to. People just don't understand until they have been there.

Terry- The count down begins. Hope everything goes good!  The wait is a killer, but well worth it..

I forgot to ask if  everyone has heard about  this site,  mybluestar.com.  they will send you a free blue star flag to display in your window.  The story behind this is pretty neat. I found another site that has navy coins & gifts,

http://store.fortamerica.com/usnavy.html.  Thought I would  pass this on to you guys.  Have a great day!

Hope everyone had a great wknd. Mine didn't work out like we had planned. D didn't come home like we had planned. He had to check in on Fri, he called & couldn't get in touch w/whom he needed to talk to. Instead of calling back or just going to the recruiting office he hung out w/his  college buddies. So on Mon he had to go check in, fill out more paperwork, not really sure what all. He also forgot to let mom & dad know his plans had changed, we found out Sun. I think he brought the laid back attitude home from Ca w/him, not good. I'm w/CJ's mom right now, kids ugh! My kids are more exhausting as adults than when they were toddlers! Sorry, guess I have been having my own pity party. I know I'm lucky he is closer, just have to work out when we can go visit or he can come home for visit.

G Penney,  so happy you had a great time & congrats to N.

Eds,  How is your family?  Pray that all is well.

Maggie, sounds like you had a wonderful time. So happy for you.

Cara,  did you ever check the pic D took of himself. Hope you get to visit S really soon.

Maggie- that sounds like a great visit!  I am waiting for a time to visit S in CT.  It is hard to let go once you have them again.  But it is for the best.  He is going to make a change in the future.  Just keep reminding yourself that.  It is all I can do sometimes to make it through the day. Take Care

Hello everyone!  My husband and I just got back last night from visiting our son in Pensacola.  Quite exhasuted.  We had a wonderful time.  He is doing great.  Celebrated his 21st birthday.  Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on New Warrington Rd NAS........about four miles from base......Nice and clean......breakfast bar.   Went to the NEX, toured around the base.....naval museum....... the Mall....Pensacola Beach is beautiful.   Ate at Flounders on the beach.....very good.  Also O'Riley's Irish ....great rueben....The Fish House - pricey.   It was really hard to leave him but I know he really likes it and I am so proud of him for making this choice.   Hope everyones sailors are ok and doing well.  God Bless.
