My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Thanks Ladies for your Encouraging words and Prayer for my friend!! She will talk to the Dr. tomorrow for plans for her care. Hope all is well with you today. So glad that we did not get the snow that was predicted for us. Nick got sharp shooter again but with the M16. Whew all these gun things make me nervous. He seems to be loving getting to fire all of them. Prayers up for you all!!

Cindy, Oh no, that's just awful!  I'll ask A tonight.  He did call me today, I wonder if that's why?

Thanks Betsy....I would too (be on a plane)...would have been packed and in the car to the airport by the time I was off the phone last night... LOL, if I could afford it :( !!  such a long story about that! He told me to drive down...not sure I could do that long of a car ride! Just talked to him again...he is not happy, he will not get paid for a month. It appears a lot of guys that got there before the 1st of January were getting a $300 a month housing allowance by mistake and now they are taking it all back at once! Ask your Sailors if they are one of them...E is!!! Learning experience here, Look at your pay stub carefully and ask questions immediately!!!! Poor guy, learned the hard way!!!

Salma, Congratulations!  I'm so happy that he will be relatively close to home. Yahoo!  Wow, it does seem like things are happening quickly for some of our sailors.

Cindy, Woohoo!  I'm so happy that you got to talk to E, and for so long too.   :)   Things are really moving along for him, how great!  So, when are you going to see him? I would be on a plane faster than you could say boo!  lol

Well, A called me today, but I was at the movies, so I guess I'll call him back after his class tonight.

Hello everyone (((hugs))!! ! E FINALLY called me last night...talked to him for an hour...and can I just say this, Feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!!! Yep Betsy, I let my mind get the best of me :), he's fine, and even invited me to come down to FL ;)! Its all a go, he did get his first choice SD CA...and is on the Ronald Reagan CVN 76 Air Craft Carrier. His class all were assigned places yesterday. His really good friend got Japan...but wanted it I guess. Another friend got San Diego but different ship, and someone he knows got the same Air Craft Carrier...hoping as they now all start getting assigned, more will follow! He was so excited, and nice to be able to hear it in his voice!! He said he would probably be going right into active duty (Perhaps Guam or Australia) after reporting sometime in March to CA...that is if he does not get put on a "legal hold' due to clearance not being done yet (guess they are behind)!!!!

@Salma...Please let me know where your son got assigned, can't wait to hear! I am so glad others are following suit in getting their orders. I heard some were suppose to get theirs last week, but still have not :( !!

@Anita, you and your friend and family are in my prayers...that is such an awful disease!!

I will try to check in later....Thanks once again listening and for sharing, and letting me share!

This is awesome to hear about people getting chances to request their orders. I am looking forward to CJ getting the opportunity. He has school until May so I figure it must be closer to April before he will get to choose.

I am home sick today... Tried to work but no go.

Donna, Yikes, a foot!  My husband had about 10 inches where he is right now.  I know you probably think I'm crazy, but I'm jealous.
