My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Elizabeth C. ((Hugs)) to you.  We understand completelyI  I love the Popeye boxes.  lol  I sent my A some boxers with red chiles and taco sauce bottles on them a few weeks ago.  (we live in NM) lol

Anita, good for him on the ribbon.  Woohoo!   I've heard that San Antonio is awesome.

Nothing new on my A, he did say that he passed his Marine Fitness Test yesterday and I didn't even know that they had to do that.  lol

But, there is news with my daughter and her Navy bf.  They are talking engagement rings now.  Nothing has been purchased yet, but they have looked at them and she also told him that he would HAVE to ask her Dad first.  :)  She also told him that she didn't want to get married until after they moved back from Hawaii late in the year 2012.  So it will probably be a 2013 wedding for them.

Hi everyone...hope everyone is doing well...it has truly been one of those weeks I chalk it up to the "Full Moon"....silly ole moon...haha.  Talked to my T this week he is getting excited about school and watching You Tube videos on the Navy and of course he's excited and texts me and says Mom check this out...I watch the videos and it totally freaks me out and then I start crying, thank goodness he is only texting me so he can't hear me falling apart..I know he will have the best training in every situation but it still gets to me.  I called my car insurance company yesterday and had him taken off as an insured on my policy (of course its saving me a boatload of money) I hung up the phone and just cried, it felt to real I've been reluctant to change anything since he's been gone not sure why and I hope I'm not in some sort of denial, I almost called the insurance agent back and said I was just kidding put him back on the policy...oh the emotions of a mom....thanks for listening...I still blame everything on that silly ole Full Moon atleast that's my excuse for today :o)

Nanny 2 - that poem was great thank you for sharing

Cindy - I hope your E is doing better, I can only imagine how you felt when you to got the text that he was in medical and hooked up to an IV, as a mom that is the last thing you want to hear when your child is so far away from you I would have been climbing the walls.

Everyone have a good weekend...I think I will sit in my sewing room and make T boxer's out of Popeye fabric, he will be so embarrassed but that's what mom's do right?

Sorry that I haven't been absent on this page lately.  I have a hard time keeping up with all the different discussions.  I hope everyone is doing well and their sailors are doing well in the next phase of there Navy experience.  I, too, decided to text my son every morning just to say "good morning".  I don't always get a response, but sometimes I do or sometimes I get a phone call.  The best is a "love you mom" text back. It did not matter what else he said.  That was all I could remember.  Made my day.

Cindy, I hope your son bounces back quickly.  My son gets nasty headaches when he doesn't drink enough.  He was also quite sick after boot camp which spread quickly through our house.  I think he has finally gotten rid of it, but I am sure there will be something else around the corner.  I really hope not!

So, be well everyone and prayers to all of our sailors out there and prayers to the friends and family of the fallen sailor. I was very sad to read that news.

I decided the other day that I was going to text or facebook a good night and good morning every day whether she responds or not.
