Now you can add Scottsdale to your members list! My son's a corpsman nearing the end of two years as an anesthesia tech at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA, then on to FTMB & a ship after that. I'm planning to join the get-together on January 9 - look forward to meeting you!

Audreysmema....my daughter in currently in Montery, CA, finishing her Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Naval Post Graduate School. She is a graduate of the Naval Academy in Annapolis (Class of '02). She is classified as a Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer. After Department Head School she will be stationed on a LSD, the USS Fort McHenry. It sounds as if it is the same type of ship your son will be on. You are right - your son will probably be real busy!! :-) You asked about the cold weather in Rhode Island - well, my son is stationed in Groton, CT. His wife is stationed in Newport. And it IS cold!!

Hi Audreymema....we lived in Tempe for 18 years. Now we are in Ahwatukee. what ship will your son be on in Little Creek? My daughter will be stationed out of Little Creek beginning either September 2010 or October 2010 (has to complete Department Head School in Newport first). I know it will be hard no to see your son for Christmas.
