Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

It's never easy on us or them. I wait till he's on the plane before I cry. In answer though, yes, it has gotten easier over the last seven years and 3 deployments.

Ladies, those of you attending tomorrow's DEP Families and Navy Moms Potluck here in Tucson: I drove out to the Reserve Center, south on Wilmot, south of Golf Links and about 100 feet from the Wilmot gate going into DM, turn LEFT! Light brown angular building with light trim. As you enter the parking lot, you'll notice the Navy anchors!! GO NAVY! We will be inside, don't let the 'cool' weather keep you away. Start at 1pm - 4pm and ALL ARE WELCOME!! Bring a dish according to your name (see event) or bring what you can, just bring something and come! Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Can someone please get me more information about the pot luck this weekend?
Comment by Melissa (Tucson) on November 11, 2009 at 3:40pm
Colleen: If you can make it to the potluck this Saturday you will have at least 6 Navy Moms with lots and lots of insight as you PIR and what to do! :)
Comment by galefrank on November 11, 2009 at 12:06pm
Hi Colleen, First of all welcome. There's lots to do. The kids generally want to go to Gurnee Mills Mall. Most of the hotels in the area have shuttles to PIR. I'm in Tucson. Food....they will think Mc Donald's is like The Gold Room LOL
