Hi Everyone! Is there going to be a get-together in the East Valley? I know lots of you are headed to Great Lakes. Have a terrific time and congratulations! Go Navy!

Liberty is ‘time off’ from the daily routine. Graduating Sailors will be granted liberty to go off-base during the day with their families.

1.Graduating Sailors may not smoke, drive, or consume alcoholic beverages while on liberty.
2.Graduating Sailors must stay within a 50-mile radius of RTC.
3.Graduating Sailors must remain in their complete uniform while on liberty. If they are engaging in physical activity or swimming, they must be in authorized Navy issued workout gear.
4.Liberty expires at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 8 p.m. on Sunday. No overnight liberty is authorized. Due to security checks and transit time, please allow ample time for graduating Sailors to walk back to their assigned ship prior to the end of liberty.
5.Families may not enter the base after graduation and will need to meet graduating Sailors for liberty at the main RTC gate.
6.Graduating Sailors departing RTC for follow-on training the same day as graduation or in a duty status will be granted limited on-base liberty.
7.Graduating Sailors receive an in-depth liberty briefing prior to their graduation day.

Most likely he will get liberty after moving out of RTC and moving into the base across the street. Most have to be back on base by 6 or 7pm?? Your son will know EXACTLY what he's allowed to do while you are there. They really drill that into them. Don't worry about those details. As far as Veteran's cemetery, what city?

blyswmn: Get there early (6:30am) and sit at the bottom of the bleachers. Where is your son going for 'A' school?

Julie: Melody lives in Burbank and when she first moved there her car was still registered here in AZ. She called AAA and they told her exactly where to take her car and get the emissions test and then she got her new tags.

Did you call MVD and ask for an extension in order to get this done?

I've been trying to get someone up in Phx to create 'East' and 'West' Phoenix groups, so you all can plan some get togethers that are closer to your homes.

We don't have that problem down here in little 'ol Tucson! lol

sounds like someone in the mail system is wise to what is in the card. Ben's 1st package on deployment was stolen from and re-wrapped with USPS tape.

Julie: I mailed Matt's birthday card to him June 6th. His birthday was July 6th. He received the card August 12th. He was asked to be in a wedding and needed his dress clothes. I had him get the address of a buddy (his chief) who lives off base. Matt got the package, no problem. Can you ask Cory if he is able to use someone else's home address? Short of them renting a mailbox, I don't know what else to recommend. :(
(I had to read your comment 3 times, I thought you were mailing the gift certificate to the movie theater....) lol
