OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

FC (Fire Control) is part of AECF (Advanced Electronics & Computer Field). We had a AECF group here. Mary is the founder of that group and can be extremely helpful.

Christy aka momofjaymes, More will follow. A letter usually follows with address info. I'm trying to think what I did with all the contents of "The Box" I may still have it stashed with what remained at home with us.

Got to share the findings when we were cleaning up his desk.....girly magazines from Germany. He made a trip with his high school class the year before. I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

i think every new graduate wants the same thing....LONNNNNNG SHOWER, REAL FOOD, STEAK (REALLY BIG). Bryan's big request was Dr. Pepper. I think he drank the bottle in one gulp. LOL Oh does this sound so familiar. Bryan and I were just talking about him being in for 7 years already. How time flies.

There is a little problem with the current cranking theory. A lot of our ships are currently undermanned (the Navy's biggest expense is a Sailor) and due to the undermanning the cranking schedules are changing. Remember the needs of the Navy come first. And I know this because my son just returned from his first deployment and cranked in the Chief's Mess for 4 months and then 2 1/2 months in the galley. His ship was designed to carry 320 Sailors & Officers and is currently manned at 240. Sailors from all divisions are 'lent' to the supply division to help out when needed.

I want to thank Paige for the wonderful get-together yesterday. It will be nice to read emails and be able to put faces on the names. Go Navy!

Joyce, ask Anita to give you the solution to why some of your pictures stretch. It's a compatibility issue with your web browser not the computer.

When Bryan did cranking he worked in the Ward Room serving meals to officers.

Hi Lori - My daughter is Nurclear Surface, so when she was on the Truman she was one of the Reactor Officers. I went on a family cruise before deployment in 2007. It is amazing what the deck crews do.
