My husband was to ill to travel to our Sailor's PIR and when I returned home I gave him every detail I could remember. As I was finishing up the story he says, "The Navy always put on a good show." (He was in the Army!!) It has now become our family joke....
Since our Sailor's PIR I have had the opportunity to see several other Naval ceremonies and they are almost just as moving as PIR. :)

Lindsay, that is an amazing feat! We have a condo in Tucson that we do that with. I think your area probably has more winter visitors thaan us.

Have you considered furnishing it and doing short term vacation rentals?

Welcome Candie! Glad you found N4M's. Did you join the boot camp group yet? Lots of support and info in that group. Try and watch that video I just posted, your hubby may be in it.

BTW we have a group on here for DEPPERS.

I'm attending the zone meeting here in Tucson at Reid Park.

Recruiters and DEPPERS like watermelon or cantalope or grapes. Veggies and low fat dip.

Stay away from anything with a lot of fat as some are watching their weight and the recruiters stress healthy food.

Zone meetings are help monthly are local parks to help DEPPERs with physical fitness, weight ins and marching. Gives them a feel for boot camp. They also get a chance to talk to recruiters one-on-one about any concerns. Here in Tucson I was asked by our zone supervisor (Chief Petty Officer who is the boss over all the recruiters) to attend the zone meetings and talk to the DEPPERS and the DEP parents. It's a nice way to invite them to join this site and to answer any questions they have and show support. I really enjoy it.
