Happy New Year, AZ Navy Moms!  Here's a little something to kick it off - Old Spice has this ad for the moms who "have a little trouble letting go" LOL

Welcome Michelle!  You can tell I'm a little partial to corpsmen ;)  And we have more corpsman moms here, too.  I hope you'll also join the group Corpsmen Moms and Dads if you haven't already.  My friend Marsha (aka "MikesMom" on N4M) has a son and son-in-law, both corpsmen, at Bremerton.

Hi, I am Michelle from San Tan Valley.  I have two sons in the Navy.  One is a corpsman and is currently stationed in Bremerton.  My other son is in Basic Training and will also attend A School to be a corpsman.

I went to the WWll Memorial ceremony today downtown, and I have to say it was spectacular.

Have to say....love the group of Navy Moms that meet once a month!  We are getting quiet a nice group of great moms and it is always fun to check in with each other.  Ethansmom, you never fail to make me laugh!  Wish you all a wonderful Christmas with your families and sailors if you are blessed enough to have them home!

Hi Vanya, mixed feelings for all families involved in Philippines recovery I imagine. When on deployment I worried a lot for my son encountering weather and other countries attitudes and he did have stories of both he later told us.
But ive read helping in the disaster adds to worries for many .I belong to a group on Facebook called navy for moms ( no relation to this one ).. And there are plenty of moms on there whose kids r like yours " deployed to help".
I recommend you joining there too , they ask u some verification info that shows in your "other" folder in messages ..but I've been with them over a year and learned lots of things .
Ego has increased in my son since he joined ...self esteem boosted almost daily each time he conquers a task he never did.
I think they are all brave heroes for even joining and duties accomplished while on deployment and everyday job duties.

As to your son not being on actual ground , I'm sure he's smart enough to know but needs reminding (good mom you're already doing )that they are all needed as a team and all heroes .
I'm on my ipad so the typing screen view is not ideal and I obviously don't type well..if I was in person I could articulate better BUT I wanted to tell u about other group and let u know I think you're doing great encouraging him .
I have no doubt he will feel more pride when this is over knowing HE and all his shipmates helped the recovery.

Anyway, enough of my incoherent mistyped blabbering ...my son is on deck always too..never heard that term "ape" ...now I have another question to bug my son about ;)
