Mine had his removed in BC. it is common, especially if they are being assigned to a ship I hear, because they don't want them out at sea and then an issue arises like infection and it can't be taken care of.

I also live on Thunderbird, between the I-17 and 19th. :)

Hi Kendra!! I am not on here much, but I live 35th and Thunderbird area, so may not be too far from you.
Welcome and from what I understand, wisdom teeth removal is very common. Mine didn't get his removed, but a lot of others did. They give them time to rest and heal - probably not as much as us Mamas would like. LOL

Silly me, I apologize for not even properly introducing myself below.  My name is Kendra & am glad to be a new member of this group.  :)

Hello fellow AZ Navy Moms! My oldest son's PIR was on August 30th of this year. I live in Glendale, AZ - the northwest end of town (for those of you who live in the Phoenix area).  I am currently biting my nails, as my son just told me they will be doing oral surgery next week to remove all of his wisdom teeth (!)  I must admit I am a nervous wreck.....wishing I could be with him through this ordeal.  I personally had a bad experience with my wisdom teeth removal so am anxious for him. :-(

Gosh - I didn't mean to start my introduction on a negative note......but so wish I could find out more about my son's upcoming surgery.  I'm afraid I am not doing very well as a newbie Navy mom (!)
