Son is stationed at Twentynine Palms. I will never complain about Phoenix again. Although I love their exchange. Strange though-there is a dress code for the exchange-is this normal for marine bases? My husband is retire Air Force and I have never been to an exchange with a dress code of "no flip flops". The day my son drove on the base he had to shave before they would give him a car pass. He had just shaved the morning before and in all fairness he was driving in from Washington DC. He has been there for a couple months now and since there really isn't "anything to do"-he has taken the time to go back to school. Attending" University of Phoenix" online for his masters in Hospital Administration. I grateful he is so close to home and his is safe and what more could a mother want?

Hi Ladies - I'm new and an East Valley Mom - our son PIR'd on 8/16 and is now in Groton for Sub School.  Would have loved to make it to the meetup tonight, but hubby is out of town for work and we have 2 elementary-aged sons.  Have a great day and let me know of future get-togethers :-)

We're still here!  We drove by the Navy Lodge this afternoon -- were you on the beach?

Hi Dillonsmom,

I live in Surprise (Marley Park). I sent you a friend request.

SmilinX2- I am not too far from you either! It's nice to know that there are folks so close by...

Amandamomof4 has been nice enough to reach out to me to include me in the gatherings- unfortunately, I travel for my job and only have weekends to do things- just don't forget about me guys! Keep the invites coming. I will eventually make it!
