Thank you so much. That would be great to see if he might know anyone. I know my son will be fine. I just need to adjust not seeing him for months at a time. I thought the 8 weeks BC was bad!  Oh Boy... Thank you again!

kazzam... next time I talk to him, I'll ask about the USS Bonhomme and let you know if he knows anyone.
I understand your worries, and probably all the Mom's here do! I think it's more of an adjustment for us than for our sailors! lol.
Takes a bit getting used to the big time difference...18 hrs. Christian gets off work around 3:00pm Sasebo time...which is 11pm the night before here! Yesterday he called on his lunch break...noon Thurs. there...but only 8pm Wed., last night here. Crazy!
I wish him all the best on the Bonhomme!

Thank you so much for the response. My son will be on USS Bonhomme in Sasebo. Maybe your son knows some Sailors from that ship? So glad to hear he likes it. I am worried as heck for him to leave and be so far away! He is excited though!

kazzam...Yes! Christian is attached to the USS Germantown, home port is Sasebo.
He's been there since May.  Busy ship...out and about frequently...he likes it...and says the sailors get along well with the Marines they transport.

Thanks for the prayer!

Where in Japan is your son stationed? My son just graduated from BC 9-28-12 and is going to Sasebo, Japan by Nov 19, 2012. Just curious if  your son might be in Sasebo also? I have also said a prayer he will be able to come home :D

Hi all, please keep your fingers crossed..that Christian is able to take leave end Jan. He is going to San Diego for a short class ( 8 or 9 days), and he is hoping to be able to come home for a visit before going back to Japan.
FB and Skype, and phone calls are great...but...We sure miss him!
