Hi All... "Last Resort" ...a new show ...Navy stuff...starts tonight. Don't know how good it will be..or not be. I think it starts at 7PM on channel 15. Here is the description:

The show is about the renegade crew of a United States Navy Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine, the fictional USS Colorado (SSBN-753), that receives an order to launch nuclear missiles at Pakistan, through a backup communications channel. When Captain Marcus Chaplin (Andre Braugher) asks for confirmation via official channels, he is relieved of command. His second in command, Lt. Commander Sam Kendal (Scott Speedman), also questions the orders and the vessel is fired upon by the USS Illinois, killing crew members of the Colorado.

Hi blythe9041 - AZ nuke mom here, also.  We are in the chandler area.  My son is very close to finishing Power School.  He has been at GC for just over a year.  "A" school was an eye opener for him re: the amount of studying and testing required, but got his feet under him for Power School and has done well.  Hopefully, you have found the nuke mom site and joined.  It truly is a wealth of information.  Best of luck to you and your sailor on your new journey.

ProudGB thanks for sharing that link to the version on the Star Spangled Banner, I agree with Teachjar about not messing with the SSB but I just watched the video and it was AWESOME and I am not a rock like person but they did a fabulous job with just the right amount of mix.  The video made it all the more perfect, wouldn't it be great if they got asked to perform at one of the World Series games this year, of course they would have to have the video playing on one of the jumbo-trons at the same time to get the full meaning.

Teachjar...I'm with you on being old school about the SSB.  I was pretty skeptical about listening to it when a friend emailed it to me. But I'm glad I did, and wanted to pass it along.  It just got me so jazzed up...in a good way. You can't listen to it and not feel the passion for who we are and what we stand for.
It doesn't replace the original, just kinda makes ya stand up and take notice a bit more! And that's all I think the band intended to do.

Hope to hear what others think.

Loved the video Jane!
Wanted to say "Hi" to everyone....been out of touch all summer...not by choice. Served on a jury for a BIG trial that started June 4 and just ended Sept.6.  Triple 1st degree premeditated murder...very gross. Just had no time or energy for anything else. Still trying to get my brain back to normal.

On a more upbeat topic...wanted to share:
QUESTION: Can a Rock Band respectively sing our National Anthem?

Listen to Madison Rising deliver a slightly revised rendition of The Star Spangled Banner with passion and gusto. Anyone listening will have no doubt America is alive and well! And...the lead singer is a Navy Vet.

You can read more about their patriotic music here:

Hope you enjoy it!
