Hi Everyone!

I'm in Phoenix.

My daughter (20 next month) has decided to join the Navy.  She is in the early stages of the process.  She is getting her braces off tomorrow and will be heading to her recruiter to discuss the ASVAB and BC date options.
It's been a little bit of an emotional roller coaster for me.  My head tells me this will be a great thing for her, be proud of her for making such a mature decision.  But my "mommy heart" is crying and only wants to never let her leave the house!  LOL.  The 2 parts, head and heart are battling each other.

How have you dealt with this when you were first told?  Especially if you've NOT been a military family before?

Party tomorrow! Our spring-into-summer AZ Moms get-together starts at 10:30 am at Camp Social, 6107 N. 7th St., Phoenix. Special Navy guests are joining us, including Navy counselor NC1 Robinson who will speak and take questions. Don't miss this one, it's going to be great!!

Reminder for east valley (but all welcome) to the 1st Sunday of the month Navy coffee.  If it is not too chilly we meet on the patio of AJ's Fine Food Store at Dana Park. Which is the North West corner of Val Vista and Baseline Rd in Gilbert.  If it is too cool we go around the corner from AJ's to the Panera in their back room. 6:30 PM all Welcome!!

Free & fun tomorrow morning! My corpsman son will be joining Marines from 8 - 10 am for a final Toys for Tots collection at the Penske Racing Museum’s monthly “Cars and Coffee” event! Address: 7125 E. Chauncey Loop (Scottsdale Rd & 101). “Cars and Coffee” is a gathering of auto enthusiasts who get together to have a cup of coffee and check out classics, exotics, concepts, hot rods, motorcycles and motor-sport. It’s free (but bring a toy!) and they hope to see you there - Go NAVY, go Toys for Tots!!
