Thanks Debbie! I bet civilan clothes will seem a little different to them!
Thanksmom-- what a great opportunity (and responsibility) our children have! I know that my SR is excited.
Denise- thanks for the information. I was looking for local places to eat and Giorandos was mentioned a number of times. It will be so good just to give him a big hug!
Happy 4th of July everyone!
I"ve been reading about Rimpac-- that's quite an exercise! I wonder if any of our sailors get to work with people from other countries. Of course now anything about the Navy I absolutely zero in on!
9 days until PIR!!! The only thing he has told me is that he wants to eat at a local restaurant. I have found 3 of them on the internet that look pretty good. Also I'm taking him boxers, his phone & computer to hand off at the airport. He heads to Pensacola for A school. Any other suggestions of what to take him?
Jane, MM mom - my daughter is also in Hawaii for Rimpac, she is on the Nimitz and they just got there yesterday.
Thanks for the welcome, I have been reading about your get together and may try to come. My son's 18th birthday is the 20th so we may be celebrating that milestone over the weekend :)
There is definitly some good information on this site and I am glad I found it. It eases my mind to have more of an idea of what will be going on with him and his training. I think he is going to do great, he has been waiting for his life to start for a while.
It is also great for us ladies to be able to support each other through the process.
so it looks like most of the action on here is through the comments, so I wanted to say hi. My son recently signed a contract for SECF and is leaving for boot camp in Oct. I am so excited for him to move toward his future.
Always a Mom..thank you for the offer ..but i live in northeast mesa and will drive out our rm 202 fwy and enjoy the ride knowing i get to meet fellow moms soon.
