I'd love to see a get together closer to Tempe...I am from the northwest Peoria area...are Micka and I the only north people?
Denise....Bravo Zulu to your sailor on his upcoming A school graduation! I know how happy you must be looking forward to his time coming home! Enjoy and take some pics to share with us!
Yes, Yes....time for a AZ N4M get together! And yes, Chandler area would be great. Last time we went to Uncle Sam's in Scottsdale. If possible, a Saturday ???
You are all also always welcome to meet at my house (in Chandler)...only thing you'd have to put up with 5 minutes of my two little rat terriers excitedly barking when you come in. They are lovers, they just get all excited to see people! We could bring in pizza, or chinese, salad, or whatever!
Silverado, I wish him all the best. Like I said, I admire him for having the ambition and courage to do what he's doing. And I admire you for letting him have the experience.
Nancy.... I agree with Jane that flying into Milwaukee is so much better than Chicago. Very easy drive to the base area, quicker times in and out of the airport, just easier all around.
And, yes, be sure to join the PIR group when it is formed. So helpful to chat with other Moms going through the same thing at the same time! I learned tons there too. Also join the group for whatever rate you son will be, in addition to the Great Lakes School group if he will be staying at GL for A school.
Denise.... I like the idea of an AZ N4M get together. Something in the Chandler area would be great. I live near Casa Grande. Congrats to your son.Where will he be stationed?
ProudGMBarb - Son is still in Japan...he called us to share the experience of watching the solar eclipse while there...they had a fabulous view from southern Japan which happen to be where he was at the time. He will have to wait on the job hunt until he is back...he majored in Supply Chain Management so there will be opportunity to live in foreign lands if he finds the right company. Right now he is collecting information and enjoying his travels. Japan is not that open to foreign workers so it would require that he work for a US company that has business in Japan...and even that isn't the easiest for the companies to arrange. But, we are glad he is having a great time because that opens up a larger world of work for him...if he is willing to relocate it will be easier to find a job.
Thanks ProudGMBarb! I have a million questions, but it's only week two of BC! Hopefully I'll hear from him soon.
Silverado...any news from your son regarding his job hunting? I admire him for going after what he wants and where he wants it!
NancyS...Welcome and congrats to your son in BC ! Not sure if any other Moms here have sons/daughters in BC, but I know there are lots that have been through it! If we can help with any questions, or just lend a cyber shoulder to lean on, we would be happy to help! Thank you for allowing your son to serve in our great Navy! It is an great adventure and honor for our sons/daughters, and for us too!
Again, welcome to AZ Moms group!
