wow! Didn't know so many navy  moms here. My son is in A School in San Antonio as he is a Corpsman. We live in Phoenix. Next week we will be traveling to California to our Godson/nephews graduation in San Diego, he just became a Marine. So excited to have the opportunity to do this all again on the Marine side. :P

Teachjar - our group meets monthly to pack boxes...we shipped 43 this past week. We also meet monthly and in addition to our dinner, we have a guest speaker. BSM is a great organization...you should be able find chapter locations from the national website.

HI Az Moms,  Been out of the loop for a little while, but I am trying to be better about checking in more regularly.  I wanted to know if there is an organization that meets to prepare packages to send to our sailors?  I would love to get involved in such an organization.  Thanks for any info you can share.

Proud (Tucson)...forgot to mention...the most active and informative forum for you will be the forum specifically for whatever rate your daughter will be. There you will be able to share info and learn together with Moms/Wives of sailors that will be going to the same schools, learning the same equipment/systems, etc. as your daughter.

For example...in addition to your PIR date forum,  if your daugther will be staying in Great Lakes for "A" school, then join "Great Lakes A School Q&A", and also join the forum for her specific rate/job.

Also, there is a FB page for RTC, and after BC if she stays in GL, I'd suggest following the TSC page. They post some great pics. Let me know if you need the url for them.

Proud (Tucson)...Welcome! So glad you found us! Ah yes...nothing more exciting that an upcoming PIR!  We've got plenty of "seasoned" Navy Moms as well as newbies here! Will try to help in any way we can!

Did you already join the forum specifically for your daughter's PIR date? If not, it would also be a great forum to be on right now because all those Moms are going through exactly the same thing as you right now!

What rate/job did your daughter sign a contract for?

Our ET's Navy adventure began Nov 2010. He just graduated "C" school (with honors...WOO HOO) and will be home tomorrow for 28 days before leaving for Japan.  It's "yippee" and "boo hoo" all at the same time!!!

Again, Welcome. Buckle up and hang on for the ride!
