Got the first official letter from SR today..:( :). Mixed emotions, its hard being Mom & not being able to be there when your child says she/he cries. I knew the first letter would be rather depressing but still pulls at the heart strings :(. I love & miss her so much. She says she knows she can do it (which I had no doubt) so that keeps me going as well. Can't wait for her Graduation, can't come soon enough.
ProudGMBarb - in some ways it seems like only yesterday that Eric went into the Navy. He went in less than one month after Rick and I got married on Veteran's Day, 2005. As Eric was going to "give me away", we moved the wedding up so he could be there. I remember when I asked him to do the honors, he was thrilled! Anyway, in other ways it seems as if he has been in forever. He only plans on being in 2 -3 more years.
BDee - glad you got your hotel reservations made. As I, along with everyone else, have said - dress warmly! And have a wonderful time!
Oh almost forgot..made hotel reservations today yeahhhhh. :)
LOL...thanks Jane and yes that's what I think of whenever mention MM. I got the message, right now its hard to think of questions but I'm sure I will so just keep ur inbox open..lol.
Thanks Sherri will check the pictures out. I to like that picture :). I agree Diane..that's why I'm not looking forward to driving.
And they can have that weather. It's cold enough in Phoenix right now. We were fortunate that both our sons were in BC when the weather was fairly nice - one graduated in early Nov and the other this past July.
BDee, my daughter grew up in Arizona and she got to bootcamp one week before that huge blizzard hit. I was able to get some pictures of the conditions there from the RTC facebook. If you're on facebook, look them up and "like" them, they provide some photos and information. Below was my favorite one, it's my daughters unit putting up the flag in the blizzard.
BDee....my pleasure. Like I said before...we're all in the same boat!!!
You can be sure I'll be asking my share of questions to all the seasoned Fleet Moms when my sailor leaves for the Fleet!
Navy Moms are the best!
Thanks ProudGMBarb, You've been such a big help & really appreciate it :)
Anita....wow ...6 years already! Does it seem like a long time ago to you...or does it seem just like yesterday?
I wonder how I'll feel after 6 years! It's been one long year for me! We're guessing he'll be going out to the fleet in about 6-7 months. But then, you never know with holds or whatever!
