BDee...I pulled out our program guide...PIR started at 9am.

Did you download the Family Guide? It has a lot of good info in it.

0630: RTC Gate 8 opens to visitors.

0700: The drill hall is open.

0845: Guests must be seated.

0900: Graduation commences.

0920: Divisions arrive at drill hall.

1030: Ceremony concludes with Liberty Call.

2100: Liberty expires for recruits.

We were there and seated by 7am. After PIR, expect at least a couple of hours before you can pick her up. They tell you that she will call you when she is done checking in to the school side.

Don't know about the care pkgs. We only got the photo packages, and the DVD of the ceremony.

Thanks Jane,

Yes I can imagine what she's thinking of the weather right now. Although we're originally from Ohio, she was 8 or 9ish when we moved here. 2002 is when we moved to AZ so she was well adapted to the AZ heat...lol. We would make yearly trips to Flagstaff buts that about all her experience with really cold weather. We're driving to IL as well so not looking forward to that, & after PIR weekend hoping to make trip to Ohio to visit family. My brother just sent me txt picture & its snowing :(.

Thanks Sherri, I was wondering about what time we could pick her up on Friday. About how long is the ceremony? I believe it starts @ 9:30-10ish? Think Hubby making hotel reservations tomorrow. Was wondering if any SRs received or family of SRs ordered the care packages? I was thinking about telling family/friends that can't make it about them but if they are cheezy or not worth the $ I wont bother. Any info about them?

Love all your photos, ProudGMBarb!  Brings back memories - although this all happened for my son almost 6 years ago (this coming Feb. 4).

My daughter had her PIR last March and the week before was when they took away overnight liberty. I had to have her back around 9pm and picked her up about 6:30am. After PIR she had to check into A school since it was across the street. We got to pick her back up around 4ish. It was very cold then too and snowing. When they opened the doors for the recruits to come in you could see the snow behind them. It was a cool sight. My daughter was in a 900 division and was a flag carrier, so she was in early and we got to see her several times before the ceremony started.
