Jane....have a great time! Can't wait to see pics!

JoJo...your son looks GREAT!

Thanks for reposting the other pic...I thought I was imagining things. The pic doesn't have his name on it, so I think it's okay. Of course, if he says he doesn't want it posted here, we can surely understand. He looks like a sweet guy.

Thanks for sharing your pics!

Hmmm... I still see this photo of JoJo and her son, but the other photo she posted after that with his friend is gone. I even tried another browser. Guess I'm having technical difficulties! lol.

Yikes...is anyone else's view of these posts acting up?  Where did JoJo's photo with her son's TALL friend go? It was here a minute ago...now it vanished...at least on my computer!

Thanks for the history.  Love it when I can talk with my sailor and sort of know what I am talking about :)

Pea coat.... don't know how accurate these are, but here's a couple of explanations I found:

The term "pea coat" originated from the Dutch or West Frisian word pijjekker, in  which pij referred to the type of cloth used, which was called "Pilot  cloth" (P-cloth), a coarse kind of twilled blue cloth with a nap on one side.  The terms "pea coat" and "pea jacket" were first used as early as 1723, when  it became a cold weather uniform in many European navies, most prominently in  the British Royal Navy and Dutch Royal Netherlands Navy. The US Navy adopted  them as early as 1881, becoming standard fare in the 20th century.

The "pea" part of its name is from the Dutch word pij, which is a sailor's garment.

So handsome - my son was so excited to receive and wear his pea coat - not sure if that is correct spelling?

JoJo...great pic! Good looking sailor! "Out of the loop" you say?? I'd definitely be too...and probably flying high off the planet in shear happiness to spend time with our sailor!  Enjoy and talk to you soon!
