Leann...Welcome to AZ Moms! Yup, we sure do understand and we are here to support each other. I live in Chandler also. Looking forward to meeting you and hearing more about your son's journey. Wishing him all the best in A school and beyond!

New to this group, also.  Live in Chandler and son is in fourth week in A school for Nuke program.  Sub volunteer but right now concentrating on getting thru school.  Getting encouraging reports from him but we both understand what an intense process this is.  Nice to see other Moms on here from the same state who understand.

Micka...congrats to you and and your new Sailor! I remember what a relief it was to hear that our guy got through Battlestations! That is quite the experience for them. I'm sure you'll here all about it at PIR...an awesome event you'll never forget!

Edwina,

I was going to send you a message but I guess I cannot until you except my friend request.

Anyway Thank You we are so very proud of him!!

Yes he is going to be a nuke.  He is following in his dads footsteps.  We were in Groton and NH for dry dock a little over 20 years ago LOL. My husband was on The USS Boston. It is no longer commissioned.

Did your son just get sent to his sub?

What is the Blue star Mom's group?  Are they on N4M?  I am in Buckeye so not to far from Litchfeild Park.  It would be great to get together for lunch or something.  Thanks again for your kind words!!

Hi Everyone...TSC put together guidelines for facebook privacy settings for Navy personnel. Some are presented as "suggestions" ...but some are "a must." Might be good to share this with your sailor if he/she is on facebook.

Sherri...just checking to see if you received my message from 9/17 with the contact info for Blue Star Moms in your area ???

I started to say something to my son, who had been stationed on the USS Ronald Reagan until this July, about the young man from Texas, and my son finished my sentence for me about the fact that he had lost his family.  I asked Eric if he knew the young man, and he said no, but he had heard the news from another friend from the Reagan.  The tragic news traveled the ship quickly!  My son said he felt so sorry for the young sailor, and Eric also said he couldn't imagine how he would react if something like that happened to him, and he lost me, my husband and his sister.  It is all so very heart rending!
