Thank You Junogirl,I have 3 children My eldest is 30 going on 31 in Nov. my second just turned 26 I am raising her son he just turned 3 in Aug. and My son is 18 will be 19 in Jan. went in right after High School. He attended ROTC for all 4 Years was in wrestling since 7th grade went to state freshman year came in second Place. I adopted my son he was 4 days old when I got him. He is my life, we have always had such a good relationship he is my Buddy, so I call him Bud. I also have adopted my 3 year old Grandson, his mother (my Daughter) has been very sick health wise so it was in his best interest for me and my Husband to do that. So my life has been full of surprises, and I love it! Just glad that I am fortunate to be able to do what I can.
Phoenixmom, early congrats on another grandchild. My SR is 24, and my other two are 31 and 34. None are married or have any children, and I am 56!
Mom of two I want to congratulate you on your New Sailor to be....You will love the Graduation it is a sight to see! Seeing my son march in with his Div. I was so proud! I couldn't help but to cry when I was able to hold him. it felt like forever. I don't ever think we will stop worry about our Son/Daughter and the choices that they make even in the Military. We will always give advice and be there for whatever their needs may be. That's what MOMMAS do!
Junogirl we are all hoping for our Sailors to be able to come home. My son is also a EM welcome! once she gets in to A school I am sure they will let her know. because I believe Nov. will most definite be the time they will know for sure. Well just found out My eldest is having a baby her third. So this will be a surprise to my son that he will be a Uncle once again. Going on 52 myself this month and already a grandma to 3 going on number 4.
I am sure each person will be different. It will be nice to see him and I am hoping, but he is an adult now who needs to learn to make his own decisions, even tho I want to say, tough come home!! lol..... I just want to hurry and get through graduation of BC and then worry about that. Only 17 more days!!!!!!!!!! The countdown is on my dryboard at work.....I am sure they are all sick of hearing me complain! haha.....It is definitely nice to have people who are on the same boat as me to ask questions, you know, so we can all worry instead of just me!!! haha....just kidding, but thank you everyone!
Thank you blackbirdmom and phoenixmom for the birthday wishes. And just in case I missed seeing any, thank you to all the birthday wishes I got. Now looking forward to Christmas with my Sailor. As we all are.
My daughter's PIR is 11/3, going to Great Lakes for "A" school as EM. Does this mean she could come home for Christmas? I hope so. I have missed her far more than I thought I would.
I'm pretty sure mine is also using his time that is, that's another question I need to find out. boy my head is spinning with all this info to know, I am surely glad that I have you Ladies on this site. It seems like we are in the same boat with all of this. I'm glad that we can put our concerns out and know that we all are feeling the same. Thanks Ladies I appreciate you all!
Thanks Blackbird I guess I better speak to my Son and find out what he knows and where he stands with this stand down. I would be crushed if he isn't able to come down.
