@Phoenixmom - that sounds like a nice day for them. It's nice to see them get out. J and his friends spent a lot of Saturdays in Chicago, taking the train, finding favorite little restaurants, trying new foods.  Our Lab sat at the door for weeks when our sailor went to boot camp.  I meant to say earlier, about mailing things, we found USPS flat rate packages to often be a good deal. You can pack them full and no matter how heavy, you pay that one price.

@barefottie - He didn't tell us what his arrangements were. We offered to get him a cab to the airport, but all he would say is, "I have it taken care of."  I will ask him and let you all know. For future reference.

I spoke to my son Sun. and him and two others went to go get massages that day, nice thing about it is they share the ride and go together so the movies and out to eat was the plan after of course the massages. A first for my son and he loved it! I'm glad that he is doing things for himself and trying new ventures.

Curious if he was able to leave base on his own?

He got here at 3 am. Not much sneaking in the house because we have dogs, and one of them wouldn't leave his side. Our 15-year-old lab, who can't see or hear much but sure knew his boy was home.  He was back up early, had to check in with the recruiter. On his way he stopped at the place where he used to work to pick up breakfast and they came out hug him. Then, he surprised his Granny by waiting on her as she pulled into work.  And he brought home one big sea bag which I think is full of dirty laundry. LOL

Sorry to sound so nitpicky.

Comment by Anti M on September 26, 2017 at 12:40pm

Trust me, don't use the USN too, it just is confusing in an address.  Think of SN like you would use Mr. or Ms.; and it can go first or last depending on whether you put the last name first or last.

SN David Jones

or

Jones, David, SN

Sincerely, ETI Margaret Clayton.

CherylIG his has SN in the beginning Then USN after the Name so something like SN last name, first Name then USN would that be correct.
