paybacks398. ya, stuff like that happens a lot. ATT is a hard class and it is not one that a Sailor can catch up on. That is why if a sailor has to go to court or there is a death, they have to be put into another class.
payback398, my son went to ATT with a lot of GMs. How long is GM school?
The day after PIR once he was settled in A-school we went to the mall and he purchased a new cell phone and bought his lap top at the Nex-also they are not allowed to wear civilian clothing until they are phase 2. However, he was allowed to come home on leave to testify in court but now he will have no leave when he graduates A-school at the end of this month. Also it took him longer because he was put back into a different GM class
Horslover, I will double check all the rules with my son. He was there for 14months. By the time he left he was at Phase 3. He just left Great Lakes last week.
What will be your son's Rate> ie Job?
Horselover, Hi I am here, LoL.
Yes, your Sailor can have his Cell Phone and Lap Top in (A)school. The only catch is that your Son can't take them back to boot camp with him on PIR weekend.
I ended up shipping my Son's Cell Phone to him. My son decided to just by a new laptop at the NEX.
As far as leaving for the weekend once they are in (A)school. Not at first. Sailors have to be at Phase 2. A Phase is a level of Liberty. It can take a month for your Sailor to earn Phase 2. They have to do extra Duty and Watches. Once they have accumulated enough hours they take a long exam.
I am not sure if your Sailor could spend the entire weekend with you because that would be considered "Leave." Sailors can't take leave during their (A)school unless there is a death of an immediate family member. However, your Sailor can spend the Spend the night. He will just have to sign you out as his Liberty buddy.
I know this is a little confusing. There are lots of rules in (A)school. This is because they are new Sailors. It is almost an extension of boot camp. The rules can change due to Sailors abusing privileges.
Hi Ladies, I am new to this group. My son will be doing his A school at Great Lakes, and was wondering a couple things. Can they have their laptop? Cell phone? and can they leave on the weekends? We live about an hour away and wondered if he could come home.
Thanks for any help!
Pardon my skeptism, however, I am uncomfortable with things like this "Online Party." If anyone is interested in doing something for Sean Reynolds, here is some info from the USS R. REAGAN MOMS:
"For flowers –
Jody's Flowers 903-667-4321 or
Bunn’s Flowers and Gifts at 903-856-2691
Address to send cards and condolences –
Sean Reynolds, 397 C.R. 4114, Pittsburg, TX 75686
The funeral plans are for Sunday. He is doing well and his buddies are sticking close to him. He is no longer assigned to the Reagan. He has been given a new assignment that will allow him to stay close to home for a while. Thank you for your continued support through prayers and thoughts."
lindalav...can you please tell me why this says "party date is 10/3/2011" ??? Is there some other indication or information that this is for the Reynold's family?
Also, FYI..this tragic accident happened in Arizona (not Texas) when a tractor
trailer crossed the median and slammed into their vehicle. It was on I-10 40 miles outsideTucson. Mother, father, and brother all killed when their vehicle caught fire. It is very very sad.
You can leave a message for Sean on the Mom's Navy4Moms page:
