I didn't see a post by "Love". Maybe she deleted it.  I was asking about A vs E vs ATT and got some very good info. Also asked about Internet service providers. I will call Verizon to ask about a laptop card. Thanks for all the great info. How do I stay patient until the "I'm a sailor call"? It is 3 weeks away.... !!

DebBon -  Just stay on Buckley passed the RTC and you will go under the train tracks and curve around to Sheridan Road. Turn right and up on the right will be the gate.  Pass the gate and there will be a turn in for the visitors parking lot.  You can park in there and your son can come out to pick up his electronics.

Ladies, my son called and wants me to bring his cell phone, laptop and computer to him at A School.  We only live 50 miles away.  But I have no idea where A School is at?  Anybody know where I need to go to bring it to him?  He wanted it tonight but I am not sure where I need to go so I told him I can take it out there tomorrow morning or afternoon when I can get an idea of where I need to go.  I know where we went when we went to PIR and where we dropped him off each night and picked him up but where do they go for A school?

This site is going nuts. It just keeps posted things over and over again. Maybe there is a little Elf having some fun.

Renick, I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply to your questions. I must have overlooked your post.

My sailor son is an FC. His PIR was 8-6-2010. He has been at Great Lakes for a while now. He was on hold to start ATT (Apprentice Technical Training). He didn't start ATT until about 4 weeks after his PIR. After he finished most of ATT, he was on hold again for 3 weeks before starting (A)school.

The time that sailors are on hold varies a lot. Sometimes they are on hold for 2 weeks, sometimes it can be months.

There is a great deal of information to become familiar with, but you will catch on in no time. You can ask us as many questions as your like. We are all in this together.
