Hi everyone...

Dori - thanks for taking care of me while I am gone. A PM would be nice when we get the word about Will and Hoppi....Sometimes, I don't get a lot of computer time on my son's computer. I have to fight off a 3-yr old great-grandson who loves to play his games on here. lol lol

Bill - I do think your latest post about security clearance makes sense. It seems like Michael took care of it early on in his Navy career.

Melanie - good for DJ starting A school. I know he will do well and I'll be pulling for him, too!!

Anti M - I am in northern Georgia in a town called Dawsonville. If you find Lake Lanier on the map and Gainsville, GA, Dawsonville is just west across the lake. Very beautiful area....wooded and green and gorgeous.

Gotta run...everyone have a great evening!!!!

Oh, by the way. Brett has been in GL for 202 days as of today, not counting Boot, for a course that was to take a total 89 days. hmmmmm.... kinda long, huh?

Hi guys, Gary and Karen. Brett seems to remember that he got his clearance while in boot. Which seems to fit be cause he filled out a whole s**t load of paper work regarding background info that his recruiter said was needed for his rate. Also, some of his division mates didn't fill out their paper work until a week or so before Battle Stations. So it seems it is done when some one decides it needs to be done. Go figure.

ariebabe91, I looked on the RTC site and Division 328 is not listed. The last division listed is 321 and the PIR is 11 September 09. I would assume that 328 is the following week (Friday). Here is the link listing the graduation dates.

Vee, have a great time! What part of GA? I went to one of my C schools at Ft. Gordon, near Augusta. I am so not a Southern gal, didn't care for the humidity. Or the Army base, LOL.

Hoppi, the last few days are the worst because you know that any time you can get an answer. Earlier, you knew it would be a while. It's like waiting for a medical test. Once the test is done, you know that someone knows the answer and you want it now! My fingers are crossed for both you and Will! BTW, what's the COC?

Vee, I'll send you a PM so you won't be left out of the loop. I suspect you will find it no matter what.

Hi all - Vacationing in Georgia and just caught up on the posts here.

Hoppi and Will - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and waiting to hear the good news. I just hope your announcement doesn't get lost in all the comments in between my times on the computer here. Wishing you the very best...Vee

Anti M - a big HELLO from Georgia....I arrived here yesterday afternoon and am having a blast with my family. Michael took leave while on hold for A school after he completed INDOC, SCC and ATT. I believe he took 10 days that he had on the books.

OK yall, this is the skinny on security clearance prior to A School. There is none. You get it when you get it. Quote from Brett. "Some people had interviews in boot and some people have to fill this thing out in A school. They don't tell you about it, you have to access it with your ID and the instructors should be able to tell them how to do it. They have to get it done to get orders. They have to start with the ID login on NKO and then the Chiefs office if they don't have their clearance. Some people just have it, others don't. They just have to check." Hope this answer is what you are looking for. Bill

"On hold" is when they have reported to their school, but their classes have not begun. It can be several weeks if there is a backlog.
