Godisgoodallthetime just make sure you son lets the hotel know their will be two of you taking the shuttle, and make sure he makes arrangements for the time like 6:15 pick up. other than that you should be fine.
My son is staying at hotel with shuttle. I'm at Airbnb place. Does anyone know if I could sneak on the shuttle to ride with him? I'll have car but shuttle sounds like good idea.
Thank you.
My son will be graduating A school as a Boatswain Mate this Friday, Oct. 27. We won't be able to make the graduation. Are there any families in this group who has a Boatswain Mate graduating this Friday at GL?
Good Morning Ladies, hope all is well, just so you know Sarge has a friend who has a car rental, he said that renting a car at the airport will be expensive which I did rent at the airport, but his friend gives good prices also. we did both rented a car and took the shuttle to PIR. I found that was the best thing for us. and yes they do call from a friends phone so do answer your phone. Have a Great day!
Thanks to those who responded. Unfortunately we are flying back Sunday morning which is going to upset me knowing I could spend more time with him. But I know that it will still be more than a lot of others get who are flying out to A schools around the country. I can't wait. One more question...we wiLloyd have a rental car but we're planning to take the hotel shuttle to PIR. Which is best? Do we go back and get the rental while we are waiting for him? And then pick him up in the rental?
Musicteachermom, I had about five hours with my Sailor the day of PIR (he marched to the museum at about 4 p.m., but then I had him from 6 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. I was fortunate to have Columbus Day with him as well, so after I had to check out of the hotel, we spent the afternoon exploring the base and finding everything. Got some great pics on the beach there of the lake.
Good Morning Ladies, I am feeling much better thank You. We were able to Skype with my son yesterday for at least an hour and half it was so nice to see his face. He apologized and said he didn't mean to make me sad. I told him I'm ok just that he should know that if he needs anything he should know that I would get it...I thank you ladies for talking to me and just telling me just do it! so I am!
musicteachermom after PIR he will need to go back to his barracks pack up and then they get shuttled to the A school base. It was around 3:00 when we went to the museum to pick him up. he had to be back on base by 9:30 but everyone is different and he will be briefed before he is able to go on Liberty. The coolest thing is when they come down to meet you is they come as a unit and you see them marching in and chanting or singing. He did have to get signed in and out. and just to be on the safe side sometimes there is a line to sign him in and out so just to be safe we took him back a little early so he wouldn't be late.
Hope you all have a Great Day!
