musicteachermom when my son graduated in august, we got a very short visit right after PIR, they have to go across the street which takes a couple of hours. Then I got to sign him back out that afternoon/evening for a few hours, there is a curfew. I signed him back out on Saturday and Sunday morning for the whole day, until curfew both evenings. Congratulations in advance and thank your new sailor.

My son is graduating November 3. He is staying in Great Lakes for A School. How much time can I expect to spend with him Friday and Saturday  following gradation?

I just send stuff too.. My son told me he didn't need anything but my daughter made him cookies and we sent enough to share.. They all get stuff from their moms..no one judges, they all like to see their name on the mail board.. Just sent Halloween treats...

When I ask my son what he would like, he tells me not to send anything. I send stuff anyway and he appreciates it when the delivery arrives. Sometimes it's only a card, other times it's a box of goodies or a gift card. I'm sure he likes to know that I've been thinking of him.

Thank YOU Godisgoodallthetime, I have been feeling really emotional lately. I know my son is trying to do things on his own It's been really hard for me to let go. This empty nest syndrome has really hit hard. I appreciate you and your wisdom

Dear Phoenixmom, I'm so sorry for your hurt feelings. Please try to attribute this seeming slight to your son's youth and being a male and not remembering whatever he said to you. He may be trying really hard to break away, which he must do, and is not considering his mom's feelings at this particular point. Pray for him, give it to the Lord and I'll be praying for you. I know how hard it can be when the ones we love hurt us. It will be okay, I promise. Don't dwell on it. Let it go and continue to love and care for him and go ahead and send a care package! He loves you - you're his mom!

God bless you, dear loving mommy.

Hi Ladies happy Sunday, Well I got to say I am feeling really sad, I think I mentioned that I was wanting to send a care package to my son and he told me no.....Well today my Daughter went on face book and he posted that he was waiting on a care package from anyone. I mentioned to my daughter that I had asked him what he wanted so I can send, and he told me no. Now to hear this made me feel really sad. Maybe I'm thinking to much into this, but I just feel hurt.

I was wanting to send like beef jerky, popcorn bags, you know stuff like that and he shot it down, so I figure if he wants me to send him some stuff he will let me know. But I think it all sounds Great! yes I was told they have to wait until they see their name on the list to be able to go get their stuff from their post office.

My neighbor sent my sailor fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. He was unable to get them for a week as his C School hours didn't allow him to stop by the mail room during the hours of operation as they are only open during certain hours that did not coincide with his schedule.  That being said the cookies were sort of stale but he still loved and and appreciated them and her for doing so.
