From what I heard it isn't a very big thing it may be like 15 min no ceremony. The PIR is the biggest. yes some do attend. I will see where and if I can find info.

Are families allowed to go to A school graduation? Do most families go? My son keeps asking if we are coming. I wanted to invite his grandma if it is allowed. I can't seem to find any information here. Thanks

I'm sorry Mattsmomma, I felt the same way knowing he wouldn't be around for thanksgiving, that is why I was searching for things that are happening on base. Im sure if you look on San Diego Navy you may be able to find something for him. my son is quite a ways from us too I believe 1400 miles, but you beat at that. Keep your head up if I find anything I will surely let you know.

My Sailor will be in Sand Diego by Thanksgiving and will only have been there for about 10 days.  First Thanksgiving without him at home, and I am trying my hardest not to make a big deal out of it but it is just the worst feeling - especially knowing he won't really know anyone and will be 3000 miles from home

Good Morning Ladies, Happy Friday! I'm excited for him to at least have a good thanksgiving also Butterball. I did speak with him last night, I guess it was the Navy's birthday and they served Steak, Lobster and chili at least that is what he was having for dinner there on base. So I'm glad he is eating good. Also I don't know if any of you ladies are needing proof for coverage of Ins. But he had an appt. with Administration and they will be forwarding a letter stating proof of coverage, so that way I can drop him from my Ins. as open enrollment is at the end of the month, but truly I haven't had any problems they my Rep just said to remove him, but you know how that goes. LOL! Hope you Ladies have a wonderful weekend.

Patriotmama67 from my understanding winter clothes are given to them already, I had asked my son the same thing and he said they are given to them so no need to worry.
