He wasn't finished in time earlier because of holds between his classes. Even when he got his orders, he knew there was no way he could make it by that date, his school was going to take longer without holds. He's had a hold in between each segment of classes. When he finally got a date for his last class to begin, his CPC told him that would push his report date to a month later. He'd been talking to his sponsor in Hawaii, no problem on their end. So all along we knew this was a remote possibility, but he was assured it wouldn't happen.
And yes, he and 2 other FRs got to their last class yesterday and were not admitted. They were told they moved up the EMs who had been waiting since Feb. Which, I do understand that part, but these 3 GSEs could have taken the class with them, but weren't allowed to. I don't know why they weren't told earlier, or even why they can't go ahead and take the class. It's a class both ratings have to take.

S Ladies please explain how this all works? when they get into school and come close to a finish are they given dorection as to what the next step is before being done? so actually they will know where they will be going as being deployed before school ends?

Blackbirdmom, I feel so bad for him!  the question is why he wouldn't be finished? and they didn't even tell him until he could not get into the class?

What we have feared since first learning our FR's orders has happened. He lost his orders to Hawaii. Originally supposed to PCS in early September, he was not going to be finished with A school in time to meet that date. He was given an approximate report date of 30 days later. As he was supposed to class up as of yesterday, it was not going to be a problem to meet the later date. He got to class and was not admitted and told he would be in the next class, starting 9/11. He met with his CPC to appeal and try to get in the class but his CPC called him today and said his new base would not take him 6 days later than the report date, so now he's back in the system and who knows when he will leave GL. Or where he will go. He's extremely disappointed. Not so much about not going to Hawaii, even though he was really excited about that, but for being so close to finishing school and moving on to the fleet.

I think that since we only live five hours away we might try to come to A school graduation even if it is informal...it might be awhile before we see him again if he gets deployed right away.

From my understanding his school doent start until Sept. 10th a week after his Graduation and was mentioning it going until Dec. that is alot of school and information in one time. I was  thinking the same as me and my husband were talking about him getting stressed also. I hope it gets better for your son, and thanks for sharing.

It is completely different. My son was on standby. He was so bored. He's been in school for a week and is stressed out about all of the school work and homework. He's going for E.T.
