Nice! yea me and my Husband back in the Day had a Time share and we spent the weekend on Coronado very nice, Took excursions and the Trolly sightseeing. Cant wait to go back and visit. Gives me a reason to leave Phoenix for a few. Well we never had a real winter this year, and it is getting up to 85 - 86 degrees now, so it will call for a very HOT! summer this year, not looking forward to it. So I have an excuse Now to escape, Also my Grandbaby is 3 and he wants to go see the big ships, we always tell him Bud is on a Big Boat so he wants to go see and get on one.

Yes.  I went to Kindergarten there when Dad was stationed there, I went to a C school over at 32nd Street when I was in the Navy in the 80s, and my husband was stationed on North Island right before he retired in the late 90s.  We couldn't afford to live on Coronado itself, so we were over inbetween Linda Vista and Serra Mesa, above Mission Valley.   San Diego is the hometown I never had ...

Anti M would North Island be considered Coronado?

Comment by Phoenixmom on February 2, 2018 at 11:45am

Good Morning Anti M, yes I am also, it was late when he texted me, but he called me this Morning before work so it made my Day! He is on North Island, he told me the exact same thing that it is nice. I also told him he left in good time because according to the News there is a snow storm in Chicago and at 7 degrees. he laughed about it. He seems Happy and that is what matters. Thank You for asking.

I am glad he got there in one piece.  Is he on North Island?  If so, the barracks there are pretty nice compared to 32nd Street.

Good Morning Ladies Happy Friday!

Hello Bandmom, well my Son Graduated Wednesday and was sent yesterday to San Diego, got there in the evening made his way to the base and they gave him a room, he said he is solo right now but he will be getting a roommate shortly. I believe he stays their in his room until he  goes to his ship. He said on Fridays they do not have to Muster up until 10am. So this is all New for Him and Me, just thankful he keeps me in the Loop. He did have to make his way to base on his own (Pay). But I wish Your Son the best in his Journey

Phoenixmom,

In the case of my son, he just received his orders last week.  He graduates A school Feb. 9,  he then becomes E4 on Feb. 16, and has to report on Feb. 27.  He will barely get all of his paperwork in on time.  We are lucky however that he will be coming home after his Frocking for the long weekend, then back to GL and gone.
