Hey Theresa...Just another inside day waiting for these winds to die down. They were supposed to be gone by today, but they are still here. However, we should be getting 80 degree weather here for the next 4-5 days so I will be a happy camper. What's going on in your part of the world?

Sharon, you are so right. I am one of those unfortunate grandparents who do not have the luxury of living within that 300 mile radius. And, I would give my right arm to have a Ruby Tuesdays locally...or any nice restaurant like that. I live in the "boonies." Your weekend sounds fun....

Good morning everyone!

Alicia - great question and I will be following Will's answer on this one as my sailor is in ATT school now.

Sharon...isn't that excitement a good feeling? Enjoy your weekend with Brian.

Gary T....Be very safe on the road; enjoy your son and shake hands with Will for me. I'd tell you to give him a BIG (((HUG))) from me but that might make some eyes open wide. lol lol

Have one of those great days all!!

Wow, Gary T....looks like it is a GO from here. And, you get to meet Will in the process. That will be special to meet our leader. I hope to get the chance to do so before Michael leaves the GL area.
Goodnight all and everyone have a good evening!

Hi again, Gary T....You are so lucky to only be 107 miles away from Nick and be able to drive it. Have a safe trip and I bet you are looking forward to having that first "legal" beer with young Twardo.:~} I know you will both enjoy this weekend together...

Kelly.SATX ....If I read correctly on one of Will's recent posts, he didn't know anything new on the PCS holds, but is checking into it.

Time to catch up here! You've all been busy, but so have I. Yesterday I flew to Washington, DC, with the Honor Flight out of Moline, IL. We took 97 WWII veterans to see their memorial along with the Korean, Vietnam, Iwo Jima memorials, and the changing of the guard at Arlington. It rained the entire day, but those veterans were real troopers! I was the guardian (that's what a escort/companion is called) for a 90 year old Navy veteran in a wheelchair. At the Iwo Jima memorial with the rain pouring down, I asked him if he wanted to stay on the bus instead of getting off. He said, "You have too much money and planning invested in this day for me to stay on the bus." What a guy! He was a doctor on the DD-779 at Okinawa, so he had stories to tell me. On the way home, we put him in first class instead of the back of the plane. He was mad and told everyone that he wanted "his girl" to sit with him! I am a long ways from being a girl (though yesterday I felt like 20--today I feel like--OLD!)

Maybe one of the neatest things that happened yesterday though was my son at GL calling to tell me he was headed to Midway airport with some sailors to welcome home an Honor Flight last night. I am so proud of him and the other sailors.

I'll post pictures sometime today. If you know any WWII veterans, check out www.honorflight.org or www.honorflightqc.org
