To Bill....My comments mirror Gary T's on Brett' engagement!!! I couldn't have said it better. Congratulations to Brett for doing so well in ATT School. I'm not sure if he and Michael are in the same class. Michael is in day school and he did real well the first and second week, then the circuitry kinda stumped him and I've heard that from many of the young sailors. So, with the broken nose he only missed 1/2 day of school and I haven't heard how he did this week.
Hey Theresa, sorry I missed your call last night and I was gone all day today and hate to call you this late at night.
Happy Easter everyone!!

Hey everyone, Happy Easter! Hey Gary T. Thought it was time for a little update on my boy. Brett is doing really well. He is passing all his test with some intense studying. They have a few instructors that will work with the guys if they get stuck. Brett has had to use one a couple of times. The electric circuity work is pretty complicated and sometimes overwhelming but Brett found his groove and has been flying through with remarkably good grades. He said once it clicks, it comes on you like a wave. His girlfriend went out this weekend and he "popped " THE question. Yep, he got engaged. They have been together for just over 2 years so I think it is a good match. He had to call her parents for their blessing, which they gave, and told them he was sorry to have to do it over the phone but they were impressed that he even bothered to call. But Brett is old school, he wouldn't propose to her until he got their permission. Kinda romantic, huh? How is Nick fairing? They don't really have any thing for them to study. Brett went through the same thing. Nick will have to go to Heritage classes ever Tuesday for I think 4 hours? Not sure on the length. It is the history and honor of the Navy that they have to learn in between SCC and ATT. They are classing up faster now so Nick may not have to wait as long as Brett did. He had 42 days of hold. Brett did some reading on GM at the library but said it didn't really give him any "knowledge" of the job but reading was interesting. I will update you soon on his progress. Take care all and Godspeed to our Sailors. Bill

Gary T...that was a wonderful post you made for Brenda. In fact, I will remember your words to give to Michael after he completes ATT school and goes on hold for A School..However, he never complained vocally while waiting for ATT, but I know he likes to stay busy and active. Actually, it was with so much pride when he told me about how they all pitch in and keep their "ship" so sparkling clean and the miscellaneous duties they fulfill.. You are a GEM among GEMS, Gary.....

Happy Saturday morning everyone! I'll be back later as I have a full day planned with my motorcycle club....it's our first ride of the season as a group. I'm not riding today as I volunteered to help get the food prepared for the afternoon.
Have a good day everyone!!!

Theresa...Hoppi answered the chit question below; here it is:
A chit is a piece of paper that a Sailor puts a requesting on. Example: I put in a request chit to have a few days off.

Ah ha, Will....you finally got to sweat...but nothing we had anything to do with.lol lol So glad it was only a 24-hr.bug...Way to go!
Hoppi - thanks for explaining the chit, the "Denim Day" events, and Phase 2. You do such a great job!
Karen Crawford - I just accepted your invitation to be your friend...Thank you!
Everyone have a great evening!

Karen - I can answer one or two of your questions...Phase 2 allows them to wear civies off base for one thing; I know there is more to it, but that's about all I know right now. Also, to do a private message you need to add that person (Sharon) as a friend on your page and vice versa. I know Michael has mentioned "chit" to me before, but I do not know exactly what it is. I know in his case the one time he mentioned it, he was asking permission to do a certain thing. Bill's son and my grandson were on hold 76 days from PIR to ATT school. Bill, correct me if this isn't correct, please!! Will and Hoppi..HELP!

Will and Hoppi - did "Denim Day" spread to your side of the RTC today? I just read about it on Navy News. That's just an every day occurrence with me...lol
