It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Sets New Physical Fitness Standard to Start Boot Camp. "The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes seven seconds for female recruits."

Cathymg...my son got a single fold wallet but it has velcro. I don't think it really matters exactly, but I would think that a single fold would be more slim than a tri-fold.
Emmysmom...I know how you feel. I am a twin Mom with only one son going in and when I asked the one who wasn't going in what he thought of his brother, he was rigid and just said "My brother does what he wants." It made me sad. I think he's getting a little more used to the idea of his brother going in but he always feels like his brother gets more attention. It's hard to try to balance it out and make both of them feel important without making one of them feel left out at one time or another.
BTW...CO-twin just started a new twins group for Moms who have twins with either one or both going in. You should join us...here is the link: Twins & Multiples in the Navy
I believe they can bring any type of wallet.
Ok, I have a question about the black wallet they need, I got a wallet, it is thin, but only one fold, does it need to be 3 fold?? does anyone know for sure??
I hate weekends, one of my boys came home at 6 am this morning. The same boy that had rolled his truck last night. I don't know if my heart can take much more.
Is the paper work your talking about the Enlistment Guarantees? What is the difference between pay grade and pay rate?
Justine, Thank your son for me.. And you may think Feb is along time away. Nope it is not . My son was sworn in Nov 2012. It thought we had all the time on the time in the world .July has come much too quickly.I have learned the past few weeks to take the good with the bad.I know my son will miss me, I am all he has had for many years besides his sisters.I miss him already and this he knows. It is just nice to know that all of us have something going on and we can all be there for each other when needed. A simple prayer, a kind Thank you or a little ray of sunshine.Your son's kind words(thoughts) were a ray of sunshine at 12:51 am.
