Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Darlene,
My son couldn't get through A school down in San Antonio so he is being sent (undesignated)on Aug 6. I have no idea as to what to expect. Will they be there awhile or head out soon?

Kelly, My son is on USS William Lawrence ,has been there since July 9. There does not look like there is a specific group for that ship. I am on the San Diego moms site too but it is not very active either. When will he be there?

At the time of filming (fall 2012), Halsey was in San Diego. In January of 2013, Russell and Halsey had a hull swap. Halsey's home port is now Pearl Harbor. My son and most of the crew remained in San Diego and are now on the Russell. You can watch the Last Ship on the internet: http://www.tntdrama.com/shows/the-last-ship.html

Suwigg how thrilling, wish I got that channel but I don't so have to wait till one can get it on Netflix or Amazon Prime. Or when I move I may get it on a new cable service. sounds like a fun show.
My son proudly serves on the USS Bainbridge, they still have a few of the crew that were aboard at that time. The ship still performs pirate patrol.

Hello to all! How interesting! So from what I gather, The Last Ship comes out on the TNT channel on Monday nights? what time? I'm not much of a TV watcher and I'm not sure if I have that channel on my cable line-up but I'd love to watch it.
I watched the movie Captain Phillips over the weekend and omg!! could not contain my tears...to see in action what the Navy does and hearing the names of the destroyers...the Bainbridge and all the Navy terminology that I have become familiar with, it just puts things into a new perspective.

The Last Ship is awesome - especially because it was filmed on my son's ship and he and some of his buddies appeared in the 1st episode. My son was only in for a split second but the guy on the left is one of my son's best buds. I was on the ship for a Day Cruise on the last day the film crew was on board. We met and talked with one of the producers.
