Hi everyone!! I haven't been here in a while. It's good to see that everyone is doing well! Brandyn came home last Monday night from Pensacola. While waiting for him our van broke down at the airport. Mind you it was midnight!! The serpentine belt came off and we had to all ride in the tow truck home. It was an experience!! But thankfully we made it home safely. He had told me he had his sea bag and a back pack. But when he came out of the airport pushing a little cart.....he laughed as I did because he also had an extra large Navy duffel bag on wheels and his bag of uniforms. Well all that luggage rode in our broken down van which was on top of the tow bed. By the way I did use yellow window paint to welcome him home!! What a sight that was being towed down the highway.lol I asked him what he wanted to do while he was home and he said "sleep mom. I just wanna sleep" and he's done lots of that!! lol I'll be taking him to his duty station in Norfolk on Thursday. That's 4 hours away. It's gonna be so hard to leave him. I've so much enjoyed having him home. Well just wanted to touch base with everyone! Have a great weekend!! Keeping you all in my prayers!!
janlee - I'm so happy that your new job is working out well for you!! Bran doesn't like to have his picture taken too much, so I'm having to sneak them when ever I can. He's such a clown!! lol Pulling stories out of him is like pulling teeth with no anesthesia!!! I'm getting little bits and pieces as the days go by. It's going to be so hard to let him go again on Thursday. Well he really doesn't have to be on base until Friday but he wants to check in as soon as he can to be safe. So we'll be leaving home sometime Thursday morning. He doesn't know if he'll be free over the weekend so I don't think we'll be staying past Friday morning. Since he'll only be 4 hours away we'll be going down every once in a while on weekends to camp and hang out on the beach when he's free. Bran said they have to work in the galley for the first several months before they start on the job training on the ship. He did say that in August he will be going out for a 2 wk tour on his carrier which is when he will start the actual hands on training. I asked him what that was going to be about and he said "Oh safety training. Like how to not get your head cut off by the wings of a plane or the cable that holds them down." He said it happened to a guy before. AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (me screaming inside my head!!!!!) So I've been thinking......hmm....If only I could find way of supervising this training. I could be the ship Mama or something. He just came in from hanging out with some church buddies. Life is so good when you don't have to worry too much about too much about the influences in their lives. I asked him about the tattoo thing. He said he no way gonna do that. He wants to be an Officer!!!! Made me tear up when he told me his plan. Well I better go Bran wants me to wake him up early so he can go for a run. Wow!! How things have changed!! Guess what?!? I took him out to his favorite Chinese place for dinner and he picked up the bill!! It felt nice to be treated!! Said he's got plenty of money and for me to relax!! jejeje I didn't even have to remind him about tipping the waitress!! He's grown up! Well being as that I have to get up early I better go to sleep. It's going to be along morning. Church will have to be the late service. Have a great Sunday!!!
Janie---looks to melike the beauty sleep is working!! You would make the PERFECT sleeping beauty in the next re-make...lol! And you have a lot of friends on FB...ive voted everyday. Just remember that some of these young kids have THOUSANDS of friends on there, so they are raking in the votes. I hope you win...i would enjoy hearing all about it!!

Ah as for the voting, I NEED MORE VOTES! My standing has fell back a littl You can vote everyday/every 24 hours. I want those back stage passes so much. They are going to June with this contest. I would think between all my friends and the Navy personel behind me that I should have tons of votes. lol
So Angie what is Blueberry Hill and what do they have there? Sounds like you live in a really interesting area.
Mama Bear and Barb are in heaven right now with their Sailors home. Can't wait to see pictures.
Well good night ladies. Off to try to get some beauty sleep. It hasn't worked yet but I keep trying!
Hey Ladies, been doing Wedding things today with my Lo-Lo, I had to calm her down a few times and remind her she was NOT going to be a BRIDEZILLA...had my mother-n-law with us also...had to go to Jekell Island...fun day....GOD has blessed us with some really good friends that is able to provide us with things to borrow...YAH!!!
Colby is now the proud owner of HIS very first car payment with Ins.....he finally got to take some time off work and get this deal wrapped up...he was so excited....he got a Black STANG!!! and was at the last minute, able to jew her down $500 more $$...He has his dad's blood in him...he bought it from a girl that's coming back to college in the states....
JAN, you are a NAVY MOM and we are NAVY TOUGH!!! You stand your ground..I think I might even make them wear scrubs with WHITE (at all times) tennis shoes and a HAIR NET!!! LOL...see if they think that is funny!!!
What is wrong with kids these days, be thankful you have a job, if you don't like it, you have the power to change things.....
Kinda of quite again....I know 2 who ain't going to be on here right now...don't blame you!!!
Kelly...r u working too?
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend...getting ready to go out with friends to Blueberry Hill....
ALRIGHT JAN! YOU tell'em Navy Mom! Stay tough, firm but fair! They could've bought a lot of black t-shirts that are plain with that money! They need a lot of growing up and guidance. I can't stand drama, it wastes time and energy.
I am feeling a lot better since the doc gave me horsepills! The anti-biotic is 500mg and the pill is huge! But I have a big mouth so no problem. lol
Talked to my daughter this week. She is painting around base (Lakes) with another sailor friend from bc. They are having a blast doing it because it gets them out of cleaning. She also said she has made a lot of "brownie points" for doing it. She said she received a Bravo Zulu from the MM1 and the Chief wants them to do his office now since they did such a great job. She now calls herself "The Navy's Professional Painter and Janitor" lol Her C School will start soon then she will get off the little menial jobs.
Some Sailors and her had a bbq last week outside. I wasn't aware they were allowed but they have grills set up so on went the dogs and burgers. For them it was a treat and fun to be outside in the sunny warm weather just being free.
I was up till 1 in the morning baking chocolate chip cookies and sent them out today. I can't wait till she comes home next month so I can make all her favorites.
Angie you are funny my dear. NO nine month flu here unless it was a miracle. Just a sinus infection to which its late this year. I usually get one every winter, the air in the casino's is really bad and I am a non-smoker therefore I really hate it. But its a job that pays well so I guess I'll just put my big girl panties on and deal with it like I have for 28 years! lol
Hey Jan, just an idea but make the girls give you the money back then you take their sizes and go buy the t-shirts yourself. That ought to ruffle their little feathers.
Well sisters I must go. And PLEASE don't forget to VOTE for ME on that KISS contest.
~~GOOD MORNING LADIES~~~ NOTHING like being woke up by your Mother-n-law asking you if you want a JOB, she siad, I thought it would help with the wedding!!! HELLO, didn't you get the memo, my hubby announced Mother's Day, I am a Domestic Goddess....I have a FULL time job, but, Thanks anyway Mema....we live near the islands (Jekell &St.Simons) and there's a real estate agent and they rent out houses and a few summers ago we cleaned houses on Sat. for extra $, they pay really well..she wanted to know if I wanted to get a crew to clean on Sat's.. with Gas prices, they would have to pay really well...I would LOVE to do it but, its only on Sat's and I would have to find my own help every Sat., most peeps work all week and don't want to do weekends....and too with Logan working full-time and going to night school, we never see her and Sats is the only time for wedding things..plus, YAHHHHH we have Vacation Bible School coming up for a week....we work really hard and have soooo much fun...my hubby is a one man show and dresses up every night for these kids and acts a NUT!!!! Adults enjoy it as much as kids..
~~Janie, you r a NUT! Did I overlook what the Dr. said?? Apparently, you don't have the 9 mth flu, I didn't hear any screaming..hehe...really a tat of his autograph?hehe
I haven't voted yet but, I'm going to!!! I liked KISS but, was more into Prince...Kool and the Gang, LOVED the Commadores!!!!! and a few others...
Charlene, yes, you need to stay in touch better with us..N4M's is a daily dose of nobody else understands, but My NAVY MOMS will....a it's here for a few GOOD laughs too...
Jan~~ r u hanging in there with those young chicks? Did u clear out some DRAMA at the meeting? that's what 's usually bad about working with a BUNCH of women, there's ALWAYS Drama..How's Max & Bree's apartment hunting going? How's the hubby? How's he liking you working?
well, Ladies, I have to start my chores for the day, I took my dad & rode to the islands yesterday, he's on a walker and he loves to go when he comes down, we were gonna try and find some fresh shrimp, off one of the shrimp boats and we ran out of time...
Hey Kelly, I didn't realize it but Kingsland is only 37 miles from Jekell Island, Chris will have to check it out sometimes...under alot of construction right now...and this side of the coast is not as pretty as the gulf coast side...but, it's nice...
