Barb you are just too dang cute! Hang on there girl, he'll be in your arms soon enough. I often think the same thing, I am just going to sit and stare at my daughter.McDonalds eh? yuk but to each their own.
Kelly- 5 1/2 pounds! HOOYAH! Good for you! I am so jealous. As for borrowing your cable or netflix, how can you blame the poor guy. lol
Jan just stand your ground. The younger generation has to learn to respect their elders, unfortunately a lot don't. Just stand firm and fair, they should be lucky they have jobs!
Off to bed girls, not getting much sleep and not feeling to much better than last week.
Oh Barb, take lots of pictures! Tell Bran about his Navy Moms and that he has a place to stay every place in the country!
Hi Girls!.....Ang....Chris to was told 15% becasue they have no credit. I think it is highway robbery. But Chris wanted to do it on his own and build his credit. They divide his payment between paychecks, so it is not so bad. His plan is to refinance in a year. I wanted to help him but he said no. It is not to bad becasue he did not pay to much for the car. He bought a 04 Jetta. it is nice and economical.
Janet.....Conecticut is expensive and ASK HIM>>> Chris's room has a refigerator and a microwave so he goes to the Super Walmart and stocks up. He tries to eat in during the week to save money. Which I think he spends on the weekend. lol.......Besides...he is the cheapest person I know. Then he asked for my cable password and netflix account numbers so he could leach off of my cable. He said he can login in and watch tv on his laptop. What a cheapo.......
OOh!!!!! exciting news I have lsot 5 and a half pounds since last monday...whooo hooo
Janie---loved the "on a boat" video you posted on FB...i shared it with Max. Its so catchy, i can picture them getting that song stuck in there heads...lol
adm60--you have just described my job...haha! I am doing everything that you have brought up in your post, and then some. The problem i am having is that there are two younger girls (19) that have worked there for a year, and they are giving me such attitude. They are acting like i came into THEIR house, and started telling them what to do. Im sure they are testing me, but im a afraid im about to break some kind of law (assault???...lol). Ive hired two new girls already (my age...40ish..lol) and i have NO trouble with them at all. I do room inspections, help out where needed, scheduling (nightmare), etc..it will all be fine as soon as i find a good reason to phase these young ones out...lol Thanks for the input and i think you chould take that plane ride...just to see and say you saw..haha! make sense?
Hello to all from early early spring here in Maine. Blustery and cloudy but I think close to 60--sure feels good.
I once worked in an inn as a housekeeper and have a little piece of advice I never forgot. Perhaps it might help you. The supervisor where I worked was also new, and younger than me, and I watched her struggles to get to know and support her housekeepers and get the work done. I found that we all really appreciated it that she apparently inspected most every room so she could personally see what work was going to be needed. If the rooms were very bad she knew and did not rush that housekeeper, in fact would sometimes lend a hand, or put another person in to help. Those were good days, able to work all day--I called it my paid exercise program! Good luck--it is a somewhat challenging atmosphere to stay positive and motivated but I bet you can do it.
Starting to think about flying completely across the country and watching that aircraft carrier come in. Such a long long way--I bet the train would take 4-5 days! I'd love that though! I am afraid I would burst with pride and emotion.
Have a safe day all. It is good to be home.
Hi my sisters! Jan its good to see you are still standing a week after the job started, just keep your eye on the prize~ $$$$$$ because other than that I can't think of why else we would do it!? And yes I know what you mean about the money. Before Jess left for bc I took her to our bank and opened a checking account, however I am on the account too. I explained to her the reason for this is I will have to be the one to keep track of her checkbook, and if she's out at sea I will maintain it for her. Not only that but if she ever went short I have the right to go in and deposit $$. She understood all this and agreed. So its going rather well.
As for both siblings in my house feeling slighted about the other, well its Jess's turn because before she left her brother who never gets in trouble, alway has good grades got more attention to him because he did better than her. And she really tested our "parenting" abilities at times. I am so glad how the NAVY has changed her, she appreciates the little things in life now. And being away from us and her home since she left for bc now has her appreciating her family and home more than her so-called friends. It truly showed her who her friends are too.
Its good to see everyone here is doing well and your sailors are entering new and exciting times in their life.
Kelly I am sorry to have made you cry on Mothers Day. I had found that poem and had to post it, I think it speaks for all of us when we see our Sailors. I hope your kitten dried up the tears! lol
Well I am off to the demonic realm that holds my paycheck hostage. Still feeling sick and can't wait to see the Dr. on wens. morning.
MOMS HAVE A SPENDID AND BLESSED DAY!
KIM---YES!!! Mitch was kidding. You have to read his post with a sarcastic tone and a sideways grin...lol The funny part about it is that he WAS locked out of the house..hahaha! We just replaced our doorknob on the front door, and we havent gotten any extra keys made yet. We forgot about it because we are so used to him being away at school. I told him "it could have been worse, we could have moved and forgot to tell you"..LOL!!!
It is a running joke in this house about max getting all the attention. And its absolutely NOT true. When Mitch was in high school, he was a good student and always getting presented with awards. he was always the winner of the geography bee's, spelling bee's, etc...he was always in the newspaper for some kind of achievement, when he graduated, he spoke at the commencement ceremony, and Max never joked ONCE about Mitch getting so much attention. Now its Maxs turn, and i will NEVER feel bad about it. Plus..its just not TRUE!!!! ...LOL!!
Angela--im glad im not the only one going thru it..poor Logan. She must feel like Molly Ringwald in "Sixteen Candles"..when everyone forgot her B-day because they were so wrapped up in her sister wedding. Wow!! a mustang!?...im not even going to tell Max that one...lol He will go out and start car shopping.
Am i the only one or are your kids going thru their money awfully quick?? Max seems like hes spending it all and having to be broke for a few days until his next deposit. Im wondering where its going. Its none of my business anymore, i know, but its bugging me. Do they have any extra expenses that i dont know about?
Janet, GOOD to see ya chatting with us again...yes, PAYDAY will make it ALL worth it...MITCH and Logan is in the same boat...she told us yesterday @ lunch...oh yeah, it feels real good when someone ask how's the wedding going and then, they will cut me off and say, "OH YEAH, how's Colby"??? and the other day we sat down to eat and I was chatting about you all and some of your post and she said, MOMA, do u realize that's all you ever talk about is Colby & the NAVY??? So, I've tried to tone it down a bit and concentrate on the wedding talk more...the joke here in our family is Colby is my Favorite child, don't mess with him and don't mess with Gracie,s he's the favorite child's dog, otherwise my favorite granddog..LOL... I hate when she says that, Colby use to laugh and tell her yes, I am and don't forget it!! She would get him to ask things so the chances of me saying yes were better...I told them I didn't have a favorite I really didn't like either one of them BUT, GOD had BLESSED me with them and I was trying to do my BEST..LOL...which is a total lie..I LOVE THEM BOTH, they just have different needs.
Hopefully Colby will have his car today...he tried to go thru the Navy Federal Credit Union for the loan & they were gonna charge him 15% INTEREST!!!!!! We're using our bank here at home & cut that almost in half..but, alot of faxing to be done...he found him a STANG!! Black like he wanted..a girl has it there on base and is coming back to the states...got a deal on it..but, he's finding out what the REAL world and finances and Insurance and patience is all about..he's spoiled (his DADDY, I had nothing to do with it) he's use to getting what he wants and this a been a REAL WORLD LESSON....I don't think he's liked it!!!!LOL....
So Happy Moma Bear..r u still smiling???
Janet, if Mitch ever needs to vent tell him to call Logan...she can relate..LOL
navyMomKim~~~ how's doug?
Kelly~~~ our kitty's are sooo cute, I know you're loving Jack....
Have a wonderful day Ladies...my Dad's coming down to stay a few days with us, Keith's got a funeral to preach today and be on the phone with Colby & bank & trying to get this deal done and trying to work his John Deere job too...me? Cleaning it's Monday, time to start all over.....
