I thought it would be great to get a group together of people who have a Gunners Mate in training or one on duty. I hope we can all give each other a little insight as to what is in store for our Navy Men and Women!!

Also, for the C-school...he had to pay out of his own pocket for all lodging, meals, all costs and he had to drive himself there and pay for all his gas...That was 8 months ago...he has not been reimbursed for any of that and his command says he won't be either...The other GM that also went has not gotten reimbursed either...they had to go in separate vehicles because of the difference in their ranks...Total cost was about $1,800....I've been told on here time and again that they do get reimbursed...but his command says not always.

Ashlove: Tyler went to the C-School because his command needed him to take that training before his next deployment.....he did want to take that training...but it was not up to him whether he went or not...

Thank you sondra and gary T

@ Sondra - My husband would really like to advance to C school, do you know how your son was able to get orders to a C school rather than being sent straight to a station? My husband has been trying to find out, but seems to be coming up with nothing. Any advice at all would be wonderful.

ashlove - my son is going to C school in Crane Indiana for advanced armorer.  Small firearms.  He has been on hold in GL for 4 weeks and still waiting.  Some of the holdup was the flooding in TN but still doesn't know anything.

Hello Everyone,

Could anyone tell me where the C school for small arms is and how long it is?

Thank You!

She started ATT the end of September and graduated A school on 3/11. She really didn't have any hold time to speak of.
