Hello I am Spencer's Mom.  My son graduated from BC on 2/4 and he is in GL until March.  he will be going to San Diego to finish school until 6/11 graduation.  If anyone has any words of wisdom out there for me let me know.  he is in temp housing right now so I only sent him essentials but I see alot of moms are sending cclothes.  I did not think they could have them yet.

I meant to say: " ....and their sailors will be going thre too."

And my sailor jsut posted this on FB 7  hours ago.  His ship earned this Battel E for teh 5th time.  This is real good - I just have to look it up to understand again what it means.  But he and ths sailors are real happy.

HI KatyMae

No my sailor is stationed now in Japan.

But I believe there are two new moms here, and their sailors willbe oing thre too soon.  Hopefully they will come on today.

Wish your son good luck inhis studies.  Advice him to STUDY

He should get to come home after his A School is finished before being sent to his base and ship.  But as you have already learned - Navy Time means Maybe Time.

Take care - ask questions or just come on and talk.  that is what this place is for :)

Glad you like the photos, Right now - it is melting - meliting!!

I can hear the water running through the gutters  Yippee no more ice covered roads

But gee - Donna - your weather is like riding a roller coaster. That has to be confusing to your poants. Not to mention - to you and others living there.  Don't know to bring out the Windter stuff or go Spring attire.  Next you will sharing - you all are out on the beach getting tans!

havea good day - making a wish for all of you for something real special to happen for you :)

You Donna :)  Hey it is suppose to in the upper 30's here - if so MAJOR down here.  Let you know if we float away.

Yes, he is stationed in Japan.  Seen many ports on his tours and lots of work on those ships !  One statement my son related to me - he liked being a smaller ship.  You get to  really know your shipmates.  And that is good because you know in  a time of need - someone has your back.

Hope YMM somes on soon - I believe you and she will have much to share.  Both of our son are just starting out.

Havea good day

Hi T-Lynn,

Thanks so much for the comments.  I guess I will know more when he moves over to A school.  Hopefully I will hear from YMM's mom.  So does it depend on what they are doing as a minemen to determine the length of the schooling or does everyone go through the same school.  When he signed up he was to go to Texas for A school and then they opened a new facility in San Diego so that changed which was great for us as we are much closer being from AZ.  I am just thankful and proud to get him through bootcamp and on to his next duties and schooling.  Has your son traveled quite a bit?

Hello Everyone, I am new to this site as my son just graduated on 2/4.  I thankfully made it to the graduation and saw him for a few days.  He will be in GL for a few months and then to San Diego.  If anyone has a sailor starting A school on 2/14 in GL let me know so we can connect.  He was ship 11 Div 59 in bootcamp and he did have one other sailor that was a Minemen.  I hope to speak to him on Tuesday as he has not gotten his orders yet but should move over to A school on Wed.  I just look forward to him getting to school in San Diego so he will be much closer.  Does anyone know why A school went from 13 weeks to 29 weeks?

Thank you  :) Hey they Won !

No words still my from sailor.  So this usually means he is very busy and his next call will be a l-o-n-g one.  Like - over 3 hours.  He has to catch  up on news from home and then share everything in detail about his life.

SuperBowl was a good game.  I bit my nails a couple times and hubby enjoyed the commericals.  He has nto stated a favoirte though.  I like the little Darth Vadar and the Pepsi Max.

Back to norm today - luandry and HAVE to finish those nagging small tasks.  But I WILL be done

Havea good one
