Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Nicksmom, I just returned from vacation and was so excited to hear boots down. I feel your pain - my son wouldn't let us come either. His wife was disappointed we couldn't join her that day but we had to honor his wishes. I just focused on the important fact that he was back in the states. His main goal was to get out of there as fast as he was allowed and return home. Still decompressing but I'm sure that is a lifetime goal. That's what we are all here for - venting to each other. God Bless.

They have a memorial service today for one they lost in Afghan. That will be somber for them. I hope to see him in a few weeks, though. Thanks for all the kind words!!!

Great news nicksmom! I have to admit that my son was the opposite about being with a bunch of marines. The first thing he did was jump in his car and go for a long drive by himself. I think he might be wired differently though.

Nicksmom...my son was the same way..."Mom, do you want to be hanging out with a bunch of drunk Marines while they bar hop?"...well, no. I'll stayed home. He will be ready for mom and all the family love when he comes walking off of that plane, and you can have a banner and all his friends standing right there! That's what we did! He had the sweetest smile on his face as he came down that escalator! Be sure to take photos!
And sleep well, mom....make up for those sleepless nights! Congrats on BOOTS DOWN USA!!!

I am sorry I have not been on in some time. I do have wonderful news though...... BOOTS DOWN!!!!!
Home to CA yesterday. I did not go out.... I cancelled my flight at his request because he said he needed time to "decompress" and hang with his friends. Kind of hurt my feelings but he will take leave in a couple of weeks and come here (across the country) for a week.
Anyway, to those whose child is still deployed.... my thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you each and every day.
For now.... mine is partying somewhere out west.... and, good for him. But, I plan to keep tabs on him..... because I can!!!
