For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Snickers makes an ice cream bar. Little ones and big ones. I think you each need a package of BIG ONES!! Pbear, now if I see those Magnum bars, I hold you resposible for every single calorie.
Long time ago story...my brother and his wife divorced, my niece came to live with me....and her mom came to visit. We watched like hawks, we were very paranoid she'd try to take off with her....and they had a great visit. When my exSIL left, my little niece was upset, and "mad, I'm MAD!" because her parents were such idiots (she didn't say that, that was me). So I told her when I was mad or upset, I cleaned the bathrooms. Scrubbed the tup, polished the mirrors...and next thing I know, that 4 year old was scrubbing the tub! She's almost 40 now, still does that same thing! It's a womanly tradition...
Keep trying on motomail, they work hard to try to get those letters to the troops, and at some point it will work. Especially if you keep trying and spread the word to other families in the same unit. It may not work perfectly but it will keep them working on it and maybe the next tour will get a better shot at motomail working.
I cannot stand to hear of these dropped phone calls, I know that has got to be so frustrating so painful and so gut wrenching. But at least you know those sailors have mom on the mind for Mother's Day....and I will assure you, there are 100,000 Mom wishes coming towards the USA right now and yours will settle around you soon. In the mean time, we'll have our own Mother's Day chat right here on this board, so be here and be on time...
And the reminder that when your son/daughter does call, that conversation is for Mom, and to be very selective with whom you share it, especially if that other person's son/daughter is in the same unit. I know you are, but this is what they pay me the big bucks for...actually I don't make crap, but still, bossy is why they use me.
I am glad to see you all here supporting each other, this is a tough tour, with all that has happened (as good as it may be) and you are all in my prayers every single day...as are our children who serve and those especially in harm's way. You're not alone.

Hi Jen, my son is a corpsman with the 3/2 Marines currently in Helmand Province...he's out on patrols everyday!

Welcome Christine...you are now a member of an elite group of moms who would prefer not to be a member of! My son was asked today if he would volunteer to go to afg next month with a different unit....no decision has been made but I want to puke right now.... I am over this war thing.... again welcome we arfed here for you...you are never alone
