For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Paymaster I was just coming here to share and jump up and down, and cry. God bless that family, that mom, that dad...and so many prayers that this young man get his life back. One of our greatest fears, we all know that....and this one is released. God bless our DOD and State Dept however the hell they did it.

We haven't shared a birthday with our son in 4 years. The last was his 20th. He turns 25 in November. He was going through FMTB when he turned 21 and since he was only there for 8 weeks he wasn't sure of his address. The Fed Ex driver knew where to take the package. Your right - mom's can be very tenacious. I can't tell you how much that meant to him though when he got it. He had been sick with some bug and it brightened his day for sure! I think having that strong support system back home keeps everything focused for our kids. I feel sad for the one's that don't get that.

TennNavyMom, thanks for your tribute. I went to school with Chris Bordoni's father. Chris had a close friend who recently died from Cancer at the age of 23. Such young angels.

I attended the service for Doc Bundy in Round Rock, Texas. What a showing of Navy support in that church. Corpsmen he had trained with, served with, along with Marines, Marine and Navy brass....all telling stories about him. His mother tore my heart out, just knowing how close we all have come at some point to being in her shoes. I attended with my friend whose son was in the Navy for 9 years. When he was serving as a recruiter, he committed suicide. They all gave their all. God bless them, and their families. My dad was career Navy, he'd be proud to call these young veterans brothers.
