Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

No internet yet. I won't post here but he's having housing issues etc. Do you know how much of the 1000 he can actually use. Son bought an AT&T 300 min card and as soon as he used it he could on use 90min of the 300. AT&T "took" the rest. This just doesn't seem right.

He called.:) Mostly listened to him discusss his life so far. Breaks my heart to hear some of the things. At least I did get the chance of offer him suggestions. Now if he takes them is another thing. He is spending a fortune on phone cards. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what type is best?

Bagram is the main base in Afghanistan. Oh wow the hut doesn't sound to comfy. If phones are hard to use how the heck can he call her 2x aday? Hmm, what's an SSG? I'm not working tomorrow and the GF told me my son will call me so I'm going to be glued to the house. Please o please keep your fingers crossed that he does.
Missy glad hubby is having fun. Makes you wonder what could be fun over there.

Looking for any info someone might have on Bagram? He called the GF 2x today. He's is very upset and miserable still so he calls her to vent. He old her he would call me. I know if I can talk to him there is a chance I can change his attitued a little. He's only been on base for 3 days and started off with a bad experience and I think that's tainted him. He told her he's hope's to get a hut tomorrow. Anyone know what a hut is on base.

Hey Chris can you have your son talk to my son's commander. I wish they all would have their guys keep contact with family. This is way to stressful knowing nothing. Still haven't heard a word. Only the GF gets his calls. His family thinks this is totally unacceptable. She passes a little info to me . She just doesn't ask the questions a mom would. He did tell her yesterday he had a toiletries bag stolen that had ALL ($200) worth of contacts and both pair of glasses etc. in it. He's only been at that camp 1 day. Needless to say he was furious. How does he replace this stuff? Please keep your fingers crossed that he'll call home soon.
