Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

****Red Cross and Help for the Military, Emergency Notificaton Link to the Red Cross Military Assistance page, on the left is a list of links to important sites, including the phone numbers if you need to notify your deployed loved one of a family emergency. This note: Beginning June 13, 2011, at 8:00 a.m. EDT, all military members and their
families can use one number- 877-272-7337 (U.S. Toll Free) to send an urgent
message to a service member. The change means that all military members and
their families can use this single number to initiate an emergency communication, regardless of where they live.

Coaching Into Care

Coaching Into Care works with family members or friends who become aware of their Veteran’s post-deployment difficulties—and supports their efforts to find help for the Veteran.

This is a national clinical service providing information and help to Veterans and the loved ones who are concerned about them.
Defense Center of Excellence information and help for TBI and PTS for active military, vets and their families.

After Deployment... This web site is VERY useful to service members, family and loved ones after the return of a loved one from deployment.

Military Pathways Facebook

To help those who may be struggling, the DoD teamed up with the nonprofit organization Screening for Mental Health to launch Military Pathways (TM), also known as the Mental Health Self-Assessment Program (MHSAP). The program is available online and at special events held at installations worldwide. Check us out at militarymentalhealth.com. It provides free, anonymous mental health and alcohol self-assessments for family members and service personnel in all branches including the National Guard and Reserve.

Should be Boots Down USA in a few weeks. He also called with good news. He had just received his NAM award. Had to look it up to know what it was. Still learning and growing in the military life. When our children are grown it's almost impossible to be there for everything and the guilt is enough to consume you sometimes. I can't wait for my son to come home and I know he can't wait to be close to home. He has missed out on so much "family" stuff and his sense of "normal" is going to take some time to fix. I can only be there when he reaches out for me as I am sure your son knows he can reach out to you when he needs to. Prayers to all of you for an easy transition back home.

We still feel all the joys and pains of our children, but we don't know the depth of serving in combat with someone and losing that person in a senseless violent act. I am so sorry to hear of your pain and sad heart, Susan. And thankful you came here to share it, so we can be here even if we don't have quite the right words to help. So very thankful for you that Jonathan will be walking through your door and so very heartbroken for two new Gold Star moms who will not get that joy. I think we all have some sort of survivors guilt, and we try to push it away, but when I am so grateful my son came home still knowing some one else's did not, it is kind of overwhelming. I tell the young vets I see "thank you" ...and it's not just for their service , it's "thank you for coming home". Much love.

It's been so "bitter sweet" for our son finally coming home, but having to hear him go through laying to rest 2 hero comrades. We haven't seen him yet b/c of our daughter just having a baby (her 4th). We were so Blessed his girlfriend could be by his side from day #1. This is the "1st" time we haven't been able to be there for his homecoming which has really affected me. I feel like "I'm" going through the post-partum blues along with my daughter. We also had to miss our oldest sons baby's "1st" B'day party in SC. Jonathan & his GF are both finally coming up to visit with us tomorrow after both of the funerals having finally come to the end as of yesterday.
