OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

You can make inquiries and even the reservation, but military person must pick up the key.
If you go on line and find a hotel, my son can let you know if it is in a safer area. Just send on name of hotel and location.

Hello, I just joined this group. My son is at NNPTC right now and will be graduating this April. We are looking forward to seeing him at graduation and having him with us for the week or so he gets.

Just an fyi - they are still on hold up there in NY. At this point nothing is going on that is major - just some things went wrong, and they are making sure that they are all fixed before they start training again. Unfortunately they don't know when that will be.

Chris, Just wanted to add that there's nothing wrong with you having asked the question. I just wanted to let anyone who might know the reason, but might not know better, from posting it, and possibly getting their kid in trouble.
Comment by Mark on January 13, 2009 at 8:21pm
The reason would actually be NNPI (Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information), which shouldn't be discussed on a website like this, Chris.

Hi Everybody: The surgery for Brianna's pallet will be next Tuesday. They may also put tubes in her ears. All looks great. She will be in arm restraints and a lot of pain for the first two weeks. We had hoped that Adam would be there the day of - and a little after. Here is our dil's comment's about his availability. "We found out from Adam's work that they have decided to do the calibrations next week. Which could mean we will not see him for the next ten days or so. ..", So, I am asking for prayers for their family. If you are a Washington Mom and in Seattle - maybe you would be willing to do a "Mom check" via phone for me? I prayed about asking, and if you don't ask you won't know! Thank you, my angel blessings, Susan
